Surely had to be Chappers or Mumba as their contributions were pivotal in taking their teams up. Fingers crossed for chappers

Ipswich players and managers never win this sort of thing. Chappers should win it but I very much doubt he will.

I’m sure it will be won by Barry (Barry Bannan) Bannan just so that commentator Gary Weaver can say Barry Bannan a few more times!
Chaplin deserves to win though

Grumpy old man …. meant to mark you up, sorry. Please could 2 posters kindly mark up to correct my error.

40 plus years ago and easy to remember many fantastic matches over ten years. Lucky to recall more than a few since 81 apart from an odd one or two during GB a Big Joe’s time.

Doesn’t mean younger supporters won’t have their own fantastic memories and so they should.

Why aren’t these awards done sooner to the end of the season they apply too?
Seems a bit late as we’re already into the new season.

I'm old enough to remember 1978 and 1981 very well too. I was a child and thought we were as big as Liverpool, Arsenal etc.. the decline after 1982 is still painful to me now. But I must say I'm feeling pretty chipper at the moment!

Why is this happening now? Already over the League One season. Bigger fish to fry now!

@BlueBlood90 I mean, the answer is right there, if you care to read past the third paragraph... "The PFA Awards is celebrating its 50th anniversary and to make the occasion the players’ union has launched Players’ Player of the Year awards for the the three EFL divisions with the winners announced on Tuesday 29th August."

I much prefer an award to be given a few weeks after the season, rather than a few weeks before the season has ended!

Doc Martin, even though the explanation is there it still doesn’t really warrant it being done into the next season.

@Juggsy Well, they obviously can't do it until the previous season has completed, and then summer is difficult due to unavailability of players because of holidays and pre-season... Honestly, I think some people just want something else to whinge about, I really don't see why it's such a big deal.....
