Keeper Slicker Signs New Deal Monday, 30th Sep 2024 20:15 Town keeper Cieran Slicker has signed a new deal which runs until the summer of 2028. The 22-year-old joined the Blues from Manchester City in the summer of 2023 and made two Carabao Cup appearances last season. In the summer, Town considered sending the Scotland U21 international skipper out on loan but ultimately manager Kieran McKenna opted to keep him at Portman Road as third choice behind summer signing Aro Muric and Christian Walton. “The club has put trust in me which is a real positive,” Slicker said. “I have only been here a year but the relationships I’ve built during that time have made me feel at home. “Since I walked into the club, everyone has been brilliant with me. I think I’ve improved a lot and my development is on an upward trajectory. “I know it’s going to take a lot of hard work to keep going and keep pushing to where I want to get to. There’s a big season ahead and I am really excited for it.” Slicker is currently sidelined with a hand injury which is expected to keep him out for a few weeks. The Manchester-born glovesman is the third keeper to sign a new deal this month, Walton having extended his stay until the end of June 2026, while fourth-choice Henry Gray has also penned new terms.
