Enciso's Knee Injury Not Serious Tuesday, 18th Feb 2025 16:41
Blues loan forward Julio Enciso’s MRI scan showed no serious problem regarding the knee injury he suffered at Aston Villa on Saturday, according to Dr Osvaldo Insfrán, the Paraguay national team’s chief medical officer.
Previously, news emerged from Dr Insfrán that Enciso would undergo an MRI scan on his left knee today.
That has how taken place and Dr Insfrán says the 21-year-old is making progress with no major problem having been shown up by the scan with reports elsewhere referring to to the injury as a “minor trauma” with the issue being assessed day-to-day.
“Julio Enciso is greatly improved, the resonance [MRI] threw nothing of gravity,” Dr Insfrán told Paraguayan radio station 650AM.
“He will enter a recovery regime in Ipswich, they don't have an estimated time at his club for his return.
“We talk about trauma or sprain, studies will be done. There’s no talk of a recovery time, we hope he can get back to training. He will do physiotherapy and rehabilitation work.”
Paraguay are concerned regarding Enciso’s fitness ahead of their March World Cup fixtures at home to Chile on March 20th and in Colombia six days later, and he hasn’t been ruled out of taking part in those games.
Enciso underwent two operations on the same knee in 2023 having torn his meniscus during training, sidelining him for six months.

If it's mot serious what we saying a week cos more than that and it's a length period doesn't sound good if rehab and physio required and a doubt for international break
We will need confirmation from the club with the official results - but hopefully only a sprain and he's only out for a short period of time. I imagine he'll definitely be out for Spurs and possibly United but hopfully back soon after!
Hate to say it but the latest opta analysts super computer has us finishing in 18th place on 29 points, Wolves 17th on 34 pts. Oh well ,let's hope the computer is talking chite.
Even though it’s not a serious season-ending injury, it will still keep him out for several matches—setting the team back for weeks. We’ve been relying on him to contribute to our goal threat by getting up to speed, which he hadn’t quite managed yet—but he would have in a few more games. Now, when he returns, he’ll have to start from scratch. Why is it never straightforward for us?
Only 13 games left, so it could be half of those by the time he is match fit again, hopefully sooner, hopefully he may miss internationals to get fit.
In the meantime, I think the formation 3-4-2-1 Palmer O'Shea Greaves Townsend Godfrey Davis Cajuste Phillips Hutchinson Phillogene Delap
Think Davis in front of Townsend might be good for moving to back 5 but also hitting on break without Davis having to worry as much getting back, just a thought.
Either that or Szmodicks in as straight swap for Enciso an Woolfeden in for Tunazabe and Phillogene for Johnson iand play a 4-2-3-1 Palmer O'Shea Woolfeden Greaves Townsend Phillips Cajuste Szmodicks Hutchinson Phillogene Delap
If Morsy is back in it will be a nightmare, him up against Kuleveski, Bergvall, Madison etc Townsend should defo keep his place, he probaly wont but should imo
Sounds like he’s already had two operations on this knee( likely cartilage). So if he’s tweaked that again it could easily be 2-3 weeks out. Not ideal.
@Town1Inter0 - What we need is a miracle first and foremost ! - I hope I am proved wrong but the signing of Muric and the points his mistakes have cost us so far will end up being the tipping point come May. #COYB - Prove me wrong please.
We have seen very little of the lad so far, if he is missing for a while it's unfortunate, but to say we must have him back or it's terrible is daft. He like every other player, he is only one player, we are a squad team and the squad will do us proud I'm sure.
@mathiemagic I think you're right. I'm afraid I was one of the ones who backed Muric for probably too long, but agree we need a miracle to make-up for lost points. Although maybe now if KMc is a bit closer to having a set starting 11, he can work is post Valentine's Day magic?
muric has cost us staying in the premier league simple as from the 1st game I see him at man city I knew he was a bad signing but I trusted mckenna who has now realised he had to replaced him and had we signed palmer in the summer we may be in a better position
Itfc2024. Muric hasn't cost us our place in tve pl. He's made errors( too many) but has only cost us around 8 points. Whether you like it or not, Davis has cost us far more points. Most of the goals we've conceded in open play have been due to him being caught too far upfield. Also, not scoring enough goals has cost us too, as that has meant the keeper( whoever it's been ) ,and the defenders have been under constant pressure to not concede, and that inevitably leads to errors. As for signing Plamer in the summer? He wasnt available then, so not an option unfortunately.
Churchmans. Just accept it. Ur source was as unreliable as most other sources fans go on about when quoting so called facts on here. I've always said to people, just ignore what these people tell u. 99 times out of 100, they're wrong
Palmer has made a very good start to his lpswich career but it's way too early to judge whether he's the answer in goal. There was lots of controversy when we signed Muric even Burnley fans and their media were surprised and unfortunately it hasn't worked out for him not helped by playing in another struggling team. When Walton was recalled he started well but i think he struggles with the extra physicality of the Premier league as he found out in the Brighton game which should have resulted in the Brighton player being sent off i don't think Walton ever recovered from that and lost his confidence. Palmer does look a more calming influence and that gives the defence greater confidence there was little if no communication between Muric and his defence perhaps a language problem. Palmer has already become a very popular figure with the fans but that doesn't mean he's exempt from criticism.
I dont know how many times I have to post it but Muric is only responsible for 5 errors that led to goals which us the same amount as Onana for Man Utd, Sanchez for Chelsea with all other keepers not far behind. Walton conceded 16 goals in 6 matches which is horrendous and plunged our goal difference. Fans were on Muric back from his first mistake at Man City. Do you not remember our draw with Villa at home - https://youtube.com/shorts/ZEQCWyZ_FgY?si=LeeEUjt9Q0cMUpeI Double save in draw VS Brighton
And so it goes on, only conceded one VS Man Utd, Connah save at Wolves the list is endless, yes he has made mistakes too but only 5 led to goals but fans hounded him to get league one keeper Walton in from Dad's Army and refused to see Morsy and Burns shouldn't of been starting and if Davis is going to play so far forward he be better with Townsend behind him. As someone said Palmer has calmed things down and hopefully we have near to a starting 11 now, if Morsy and Davis walk straight back into the team on Saturday it will be a travesty. I'd much rather Muric on bench than Walton, we should be applauding Muric for the points he saved us in draws not points he lost because without those saves above and others we be down already and with Saints and that's a fact not opinion!
