Head of Analysis Leaves Town Thursday, 5th Jun 2025 10:35 Town’s head of analysis Jamie Osman has left the club after a year to set up an analysis consultancy.
Osman, who began his time with the Blues in pre-season ahead of 2024/25, was previously with West Ham for 13 years, working his way up from the academy to head of performance analysis with the Hammers, having had a spell with Portsmouth’s youth set-up early in his career.
“After 15 years+ in club football, it’s time for something new,” Osman wrote on LinkedIn. “It’s been an unbelievable experience working with top managers, players and backroom staff for such a long period of time, something I could have only dreamt of as a kid.
“It’s especially fitting that my last match was Ipswich Town vs West Ham. The two clubs that gave me the opportunity to learn, manage and develop my career. I have so many memories and friendships that will last a lifetime and I truly wish both clubs every success, on and off the pitch.
“For me now, it’s time for a new challenge. I’ve started The Football Analyst, a consultancy company providing individual analysis for players and agencies, analysis department reviews and solutions for clubs/ organisations, as well as recruitment support.
“Big thanks once again to everyone I’ve worked and crossed paths with. There is no doubt I will miss the club environment but I’m extremely excited for this next chapter.”
Osman is the second member of the backroom staff to leave the club this summer, first-team coach Lee Grant having moved on to take over as manager at League One Huddersfield.

So does that mean Some Aluko, will be promoted and take that role? Or is that just me being biased to one of my favourite ITFC people of recent years?

Arrives as soon as we get promoted. Leaves as soon as we get relegated. Club budget will be lower.

Would be interesting to know how intellectual property works with this kind of role. Does the info he's built up on players over the last year stay with the club or can he take it with him?

Well either he was rubbish or McKenna didnt listen to his analysis, as our performances got WORSE throughout the season and not better...

Is he giving Delap a lift down to Chelsea?

Without trying to sound horrible, if his analysis had anything to do with Muric signing, perhaps it’s best if he does move on.

It's definitely an area of the club which requires some improvement. It's common knowledge we are about 18 months behind the likes of Brighton, Bournemouth & Brentford. Hopefully the next guy or guys ,will bring us closer to the big boys.

What does this guy actually analyse, seems a broad spectrum. Players we buy or performances on the pitch. Either us questionable !!!

Did he “analyse” that Ben Godfrey’s pace was equivalent to Axel Tuanzebe’s? Stole a living if so.

Read ‘How to win the Premier League’ by the Liverpool anaylyst Ian Graham if you want to understand this role. Quite amusing how many times they get overruled by emotion and managers apparently having an ‘eye’ for a player for it to backfire!

Another leaving a sinking ship how many more leaving get rid of McKenna and Ashton and we might just survive

I think Mark will need a better deflection in the post season review. Suddenly we’re getting the Watford and Wycombe levels of decision making. He’s a huge step forward in professionalism, relative to what came before, but also a greater distance than that, away from ever being the elite level we now aspire to. He clearly promised the owners we wouldn’t be in this position, or you don’t make your manager one of the best paid in football (anywhere) and invest £150 million (mostly badly). Mark, getting in his mitigation early, and sh*t rolling down hill, lacks a little class. We needed world class scouting and we’ve gone backwards. We are so far away from the standard. Brentford buying a world class GK for what we paid for Muric says how far behind we’ve fallen. Mark deserves huge respect for what he’s achieved, but he can’t deliver the next step, after 35 years in football, the evidence is overwhelming. The owners want ehat their investment warrants. That’s genuinely elite.

Gives the club the chance to improve the back room staff which probably does need some refreshing

Given how far behind we are on recruitment/analytics it should imperative that we go for experience when hiring a replacement.

GForce - according to Brian Talbot, the head of recruitment at Fulham, they are 18 months behind Brighton, and theyre now setting up a resource for recruitment in South America. I think it’s fair to say we’re some way behind Fulham.

Atty........Fair point, shame we can't somehow prise Mr Talbot away from Fulham and back to his spiritual home.

Darkhorse28. Never read so much rubbish as you've just spouted in that post. Absolutely ridiculous take on Mark Ashton. As for what goalkeeper Brentford have signed has to do with anything, I really dont know. And you do realise anyway they've paid £10m(£18m), more than what Muric cost, (£8m).
