Axeldal Released Thu 01st Jun 2000 11:42
Town striker Jonas Axeldal has been released by the club. The Swede made little impression on the first team, despite good goalscoring performances in the reserves. The former Foggia player made 15 appearences as sub and one start for Town.

Here is the full price list for the new season. We will be putting up a Town Topic to dicuss whether people think these are too high later today.
Stockwell Off Thu 01st Jun 2000 10:53
Town stalwart Mickey Stockwell will not be offered a new contract by Town. The Town veteran made 610 appearances for the club and will be a face sadly missed at Portman Road. Stockwell joined Town in 1981 and had a testimonial in 1994. There have already been rumours of Colchester interest, but Mickey says he is going away for a few days to consider his future. He is likely to interest managers in Division One and Division Two. TWTD would like to salute Mickey's contribution to ITFC over the years. Without doubt he will go down as a true Portman legend with the right attitude to the game, the supporters and the club. Good luck with everything you do from here. We'll also set up a Town Topic where you can give your view of Mickey's long Town career.

Scow Pain Scow Gain Fri 26th May 2000 16:26
James Scowcroft has undergone acupuncture in order to get himself fit for Monday's Wembley showdown. Scowcroft injured his hamstring in the second leg of the semi-final with Bolton and was thought almost certain to miss out. Now the suggestion is that he is 50/50 to make it to Wembley.
Magilton Charged with Misconduct Thu 25th May 2000 14:49
Town midfielder Jim Magilton has been charged with misconduct by the FA after the incident prior to the Blues' second penalty. It has been reported that Magilton kicked Paul Warhurst while the Bolton player was attempting to deflect Magilton's attention away from the penalty he was about to take. Warhurst, Claus Jensen, Paul Ritchie, Gudni Bergsson and Michael Johansen have also all been charged by the FA after they had to be restrained by stewards whilst protesting the penalty. Bolton manager Sam Allardyce has also been reported for his post-match comments about the referee. All have fourteen days to respond. Bolton have said that they "will not be rushing into a response."
Tout Rage! Wed 24th May 2000 16:16
With Town sold out today has seen more people offering tickets at ludicrous prices. More reports have come in of people being asked £400 for £30 seats. TWTD is removing all messages where fans are bing asked more than the face value for a ticket.
Tickets Now Sold Out Tue 23rd May 2000 16:43
Town have now sold all their tickets for Wembley. The 36,800 seats went in just four days and prior to them going on general release. Unscrupulous fasn and touts are now offering tickets at well over their face value. Anyone trying to buy seats in this way should of course beware of being stung.
Wembley Tickets Touted Tue 23rd May 2000 15:08
Tickets in the Town end for Monday's game are being openly touted on the Internet well above face value. One company is offering £30 tickets at the tunnel end for £150. A few minutes ago they had "only twelve left" which suggests they may have had many more. Given the nature of the priority schemes it will be interesting to discover where these tickets came from, particularly in the light of the misconduct charge brought against the club last week, if we ever do. Meanwhile at Portman Road it seems there are a few hundred seats still available for those with four stubs from previous games and there is every likelihood that there will be a few tickets going to the general lottery after all. There will still not be any general sales in person.
Almost Sold Out Tue 23rd May 2000 11:55
Town have almost sold out their Wembley ticket allocation with many fans likely to be unhappy at the way tickets were distributed. This morning fans with four stubs from previous games were anxiously waiting in line at Portman Road for the last 3,000 tickets.
