Mings is now a centre half, why? Hreidarrson for me looked great at centre half also (better there imo), what I gathered from earlier posts regarding Spence is that he can play and is a capable fullback but is a better centreback , which I agree. Some on here argue Knudsen is a better centre back too.
What ties all of those players you mentioned (and what enables them to play fullback despite being tall) is that they are superb athletes, which what was meant by the term ''freakish'' being used I gather.
Tall athletic defenders are able to play full back but will always be far superior centre halfs imo. (Jaap Stam, Thuram, Maldini, William Gallas etc etc) |

I can understand what I believe he means. The full back position is out wide, which is tighter and requires higher levels of maneuverability, change of direction and agility. A reason you don't see many effective fullbacks who are over 6 foot 2? would Webster be a good fullback?
Why for example Chambers looks better at cb? Mings at a higher level in the Premier League is converted to a cb? If you can give examples of full backs who a tall that play fullback effctively/naturally who are not freakish? then I can't see what is ''utter gibberish'' in regards to what Trequartista posted.. Only 22, he will be a cracking centre half in the future ( I saw the Qpr, Bolton home and the pre season colchester friendly games he played cb) has all of the tools, by the time he is Spence age(who I think is a very good cb good at rb too) of 27 he will be miles away |

1,. Josh Harrop is not a lb and he doesn't start for Preston
2. The full backs are not the reason we average 30-40% possession and that any decent quick attack strolls through the center of our defence and midfield
3. We got better results playing 3 at the back |

Spence and Iorfa are better than Emmanuel
at his age they where both England youth internationals, the old grass is greener effect.

I agree the last three games I have seen him play, he scored against Forest made some decent runs, same against Qpr and Derby.
He is 22 so its understandable his defensive issues but they way some are implying that by having Iorfa playing rb for next 3 games is like some terrible thing... come on... he started the season playing and we were unbeaten... he is not the liability that some foolish fans believe then the sheep repeat.
I have just seen the Fulham goals (he is not the one Fulham players are walking around and putting on their backside)
I would play him cb, tall strong quick and rarely gets beats 1 v1 [Post edited 3 Jan 2018 8:21]

Being a u20 rb is miles away from being a top rb in the championship, he is a better midfielder imo hasn't got the required athleticism to be a top full back [Post edited 6 Dec 2017 9:56]
