There isn't anything funny about these circumstances regardless of any belief system of the individuals involved.
Furthermore, religious beliefs do not make you impervious to doing anything wrong - that's why there are prayers of repentance at most church services and confession at Catholic churches.
Mental health isn't funny and affects people from all of society. |

Getting up off the floor following Andersen's push, strong arming Andersen towards goal, and then Andersen pushing the other defender to allow Hirst's superb shot not to get any deflection/block. Brilliant goal and one that I too have watched many many time since. |

She was probably the best referee we have had for a long time.
Sadly the individual behind me thought that it was ok to call her an Fing - b1tch, slag, slut etc.
I did turn and call him out on it early in the game - he then acted all billy big b0ll0ks with smart comments about not realising they were sitting in the home fans or the thought police etc.
Interestingly though he didn't then abuse her using phrases directed to a woman. Generally the language from the individual was awful, but that wasn't the issue, it was the direct abuse because she was female that caused me to react.
Had the abuse continued, I would have asked a steward to intervene. It isn't acceptable and the only way to stop it is to call it out. [Post edited 26 Feb 2023 14:27]

Agree. If all of this hadn't happened and he had been rattling in the goals and giving the opposition a tough time, we would have all been saying what a bargain he was. The signings made so far have been excellent and we are a world away from the shambles the club was in 18-24 months ago
We just need to trust McKenna and the management team. |

It would be painfully prolong games to start with, but once it is recognised that the timewasting doesn't work, perhaps the timewasting would stop and therefore the game would return to a reasonable duration? |

I was there Saturday with two friends and yelled our heads off. None of us had a drink, we just yelled our team on (to a miserable draw!).
However, I couldn't do that at home matches as all the people around me are silent. It doesn't help that I am in Churchman's upper, but I couldn't get three season tickets together in the North Stand. We only ever get tickets in the North for the cup games and spend the time standing and cheering like the good old days. Occasionally in Churchmans we give the away fans some vocals, but it isn't like Saturday at Charlton.
Perhaps the club should contact all of us that do away games and ask us if we would all like to sit together behind the goal in the North Stand? I suspect that many would take that option and would sing as they do away, as I know I would. |
