WARNING vile Covid opinions within
at 08:28 26 Jul 2021

I am all for free speech but this is threatening to kill people. Make them stand trial and prove their theory in a court of law, these people have no evidence and their scamdemic narrative changes every week. Give them as much rope to hang themselves with as they want and bring their whole movement down like we did with the BNP.

If the elite want to control us and become more powerful and wealthy they don't fake a disease and wipe millions off the value of their companies and investments and force Governments to increase taxation (something big business hates) to pay for a fictional recovery. The reason we're in this mess in the UK is because those very people wanted to keep us open for business longer, prolonging the whole thing, because they couldn't care less about who dies, just about their profit margin, and our Government has put those people first during this whole pandemic. That's why we are in this mess. Free market capitalism buying our laws under the guide of election donations.

This information terrorism needs to be put on trial and it's sources need to be exposed as the scam they are.

Fee is £1m for Edmundson…
at 07:43 26 Jul 2021

I agree, thats a mad fee for a lad who's spent most of his career in League Two, he's barely played for Rangers has he? He was on loan and got a handful of games with a very bad Derby side last season. I think we may be being mugged off due to the fact we now absolutely have to sign people after the clear-out and clubs know this.

Our squad as it stands
at 18:30 21 Jun 2021

It's almost as if we're waiting for deals to be finalised before announcing the new signings isn't it.

He got injured, he played for Burton last season and only managed 6 games. That's why he wasn't re-signed. He did well at the first half of 2019-20 but once he was injured that was that. Why would we have kept another injured player? We had enough.

Lots of season tickets now not renewed
at 17:48 21 Jun 2021

A lot of the ST hype is nonsense being spread on Twitter and Facebook by a certain crew of Poundland ultras who don't know how the ticketing system works.

The idea we're about to get 16-20k people jump back on in the third division is nonsense.

We've lost a lot of support over the past 20 years or so, a lot of it is people moving from there area, natural causes seeing fans either passing on or unable to attend games due to age, the kids in Town and the surrounding areas now support Premiership teams and not Ipswich. Another factor is a lot of people have moved into the Anglia region with no affinity to the clubs here so still watch London teams instead, as do their kids and friends.

The end result is we're down to a hardcore of 12-16k people, many of which won't be able to afford a ST, especially after Covid. I doubt we'd sell a full compliment of ST's if we got back into the 2nd division or the top flight either, the world has changed and the Ipswich brand post-Evans is a laughing stock or totally unknow to the casual fan.

Still not the Party line though is it, they don't tell their voters this but they are pro-gay rights, pro-trans rights, pro-immigration, pro-open boarders, pro-hate crime laws, pro-speech curbs, pro-BLM (be it the soft version), pro diversity (just look at the cabinet), Boris himself is actually Turkish, and are financially backed by tons of Muslims as well. They are hardly the party their voters think they are backing, thus if your anti-gay, anti-immigration and the like and you vote Conservative, you are an idiot because thats not what they stand for, whether we like them or not.

Still, they were in Government and their top brass supported it and since then have they attempted to repeal any of that since they have had majorities? If you look at the Tory party social media it's all pride flags and whatnot. If you are a homophobe and voting Conservative you are an idiot basically.

I don't understand why people think the Tories are anti-woke? They may talk a big game on issues like immigration and Europe, but they have been in power 11 years, all this "woke" stuff including gay-marriage and the hate crime laws were implemented by them and not Labour. It was the Conservatives that have openly worked to introduce the gender neutral, and trans equality stuff into laws and education, the argument has maybe been that they haven't moved as fast as some on the left would have liked but ultimately they have been the ones to introduce this "woke" stuff as the oldies call it, meanwhile their voters are blaming Labour for it. The joke's on the bigots because they are in fact voting for the things they don't like just because they have been told Brexit and Immigration by the Tories (immigration ... which is more chaotic and in greater numbers than under Labour) and because they are too lazy to do the research they think they are actually stopping it by voting for the Conservatives.

They are absolute idiots on every level.

We Ipswich supporters have a right to be cautious…
at 12:06 21 Jun 2021

Although I am sure we will get 11 first team players in before the new season starts I do think we Ipswich supporters have a right to be cautious about this level of change. I have seem some upset at those who are asking the question whether or not all this change is right and I thought I’d offer some balance to the discussion.

The reason the concern is justified is the last two men to really tear apart squads in such a revolutionary way were Roy Keane and Paul Hurst, both of which are arguably our worse managers ever. In both cases we saw squads torn up, and players released we were told were no good go onto to do better things and that memory still lives with most of us. Clearing out the “deadwood” is all very good when you can afford to replace it with better, under Evans this was never the case that’s for sure and we watched many decent players get the elbow from terrible managers to be replaced by worse on freebies and loans most of the time which is why we are where we are. Mick was able to recover the club in some way by finding a core of players to work around, and who were reliable and that did work for him, Lambert largely did the same thing but with less success in a poorer league so being conservative can also bite you in the backside.

On top of that if you look at the Dozzell sale, which I personally do think is best for him and us, you look at his age and you do think that had he been kept maybe Cook could have got something out of him with the right coaching because he was by no means a bad player at this level. You can see why some may be concerned at the sale of Dozzell and the potential sales of Wolfie and Downes because lets face it, over the past 2 seasons they were all decent enough for us in this league under Lambert and you have to wonder who we can realistically bring in who’d be better. I think it’s a fair concern to have.

As for Chambers, Skuse, Sears, Judge and Ward I think we have fewer complaints about them moving on because of their age, although I think out of those Chambers and Judge, although that might be an unpopular opinion, may feel a bit hard done by in this case because again they weren’t terrible over the past 2 seasons.

My personal thought on all of this is, we’ve been stuck in decline for so long we have to try something to shake it all up. It seems Alan Lee confirmed what many of us either assumed or knew through the grapevine anyway, in that Marcus Evans was a disastrous owner who played the fiddle as the club burned down around him. I am happy the new owners have imposed a structure, we have experienced football people in the top positions at the club in our new Chairman and CEO, we have a full staff again so for me that’s all a step forward. We had to change, we have to take a risk to save this club. I also am not expecting promotion immediately. I will accept a top 6 finish next season, along with a decent showing in all three cups where we are competitive even if we don’t win them and actually take some pride in ourselves and what we do. It’s going to be a tough league, it may take a season or two to find the right players and make it work and I certainly don’t want to see managers change every season just because the success isn’t instant.

Anyhow, I renewed and whatever happens I will be there.

I think some of us really really want us to be a basket case of a club
at 16:32 21 May 2021

Careful now, you haven't posted in the right thread!

Joking aside, I agree though, we can't really compete on wages with the Championship. Having said that I think some players will be watching what happens here with a degree of caution because we have been a basket case of a club for some time. Whether we like it or not, we've spent two seasons bang in the middle of League One and just sacked pretty much every player. If you are looking at it from the outside you might be thinking it wise to see how it pans out rather than take a risk on being out of work again in a year, or stuck in this league.

Sonny Bradley turns us down...
at 16:29 21 May 2021

I think all the personal digs and attacks are getting way out of hand. I think everyone should rel it in, waaay too much gatekeeping going on from a few. Let people contribute. That's how forums work, no need to keep making it personal or going after a handful of posters. I am sure we can all agree that would benefit us all, instead of breathing down peoples necks like you did me for starting a thread about a topic when I hadn't seen this one. It's getting stupid.

If we are talking about being adults that is.

Sonny Bradley turns us down...
at 16:20 21 May 2021

That summer was silly with some of the statements being made. We were literally downgrading our entire squad. If we start recruiting from League Two and the conference now, I really will begin to worry but we should be able to sign the 15 best players in this league if we really wanted, although they probably wouldn't be any good long term as the gulf in quality between the 2nd and third tiers now is quite big.

According to the local press. I think the Sonny Bradley is a bit of a blow as that would have been a real statement of intent by Cook and the new owners, but I just don't think we can compete with Championship clubs on wages. We know a lot of good players won't step down for less money these days, so we'll probably have to recruit smarter from this league if we can't attract people from the Championship.

I just hope the clear out won't bite us in the arse like it did with Keane and Hurst.
