Town Visit Shrewsbury Aiming to Go on Run to Reinvigorate Play-Off Push
at 12:02:29

Play-off push now is it? In a month, it will be "Trying to get those points to secure league one status" like we are oblivious to the ever decreasing levels of what is acceptable performance.

Lambert: The Uncertainty's Incredible
at 14:49:27

The reason they can't train before getting a start date is presumably because if there is to be no league one football, any training would be considered unnecessary activity.

EFL Aiming to Resume Season Behind Closed Doors in June
at 18:01:09

What they are aiming to do is irrelevant in terms of whether it will happen or not. Government will have the final say. While there are the best part of a thousand people dying a day, I'm not even sure it's appropriate to even be thinking about it.

If We Can’t Beat Ipswich, We Are Really Done for the Season - Notes for Aston Villa
at 18:26:03

A far better team we beat three times that season? Not to mention us playing 66 games to their 40 odd, sometimes three games a week? Yeah, whatever.

Anyway, back to the here and now. It is sad how many times I'm reading 'If we don't beat Ipswich, we may as well give up' this season. Let's do 'em Town.

We Should Simply Not Be Worrying About Playing Ipswich at Home - Notes for Blackburn Rovers
at 10:28:45

Excellent write up as ever. Fans of other clubs are still banking on turning us over quite easily. I'm looking forward to us surprising a few as they probably are not aware of the positive atmosphere around the club since Lambert arrived, which has gathered momentum in the last fortnight.

Genius. It's a surprise at none of the top European managers are using this as a tactic. Getting a man sent off is the perfect way to grind out a result.

Former Midfielder Redford Found Dead
at 20:57:30

Genuinely upsetting news. Under rated player, great left foot. Probably signed him a few years past his peak. Lovely fella too, remember speaking to him several times. He was one of those Town players of the times who did lots of school, hospital etc visits. RIP Ian. Thanks for the memories.

Football - A Game of Emotion - Michael Kemp RIP

RIP Kempy. Never to be forgotten. As a youth, I remember several 'rites of passage' beer sessions and leg pulling with him, Sladey and others. Truly a sad day, we have lost another great character.

Town Topic: It Was 20 Years Ago Today
at 15:51:27

It was an incredibly feel good time. North Stand rocking, the lads in the West, Hare and Hounds, Blackadder, Jase and Kiwomya, players and fans drinking together. It was the most collective unit the club has been. Like someone mentioned earlier, I feel so much more detatched from the club and its staff these days. Maybe its because I'm older, I don't know.

But what a season. The Southend away day was the day I knew we were going up. That run we went on between end of Feb and start of April left everyone else for dead, and we were able to afford the mini hiccup (Grimsby, Bristol C, Sunderland) at the end. Good memories, 20 years ago..good god. Lets hope we can have another season like that very soon.
