Mick's Favourites
Written by SpiritOfJohn on Wednesday, 30th Dec 2015 11:28

Congratulations to Mick and the team for equalling Sir Bobby's 1976 record. Let's hope they can go one better at Burnley.

There has been a lot of discussion about Mick's tactics and his football philosophy throughout his time at the helm. One has been musing on this subject throughout the Christmas period whilst partaking in the occasional tipple and noticed that Mick's favourite things could be substituted into the Sound of Music for a bit of festive fun:

Whiskers on keepers
And raindrops on pitches
Brighton away days
And cuts that need stitches
Chasing lost causes and Knudsen's throw-ins
These are a few of Mick's favourite things

Players that train hard
And players that play hard
Players that look hard
And players that work hard
Players that always go in where it hurts
These are the ones that he puts in blue shirts

When the match starts
When the ball's kicked
Way up in the air
I think of a few of Mick's favourite things
And then I don't miss the flair

Blockers and battlers
And pumping it forward
No time for bottlers
No tapping it sideways
Balls down the line and a cross from the wings
These are a few of Mick's favourite things

When it's over
Chambo's fist pump
Murphy's scored once more
I think of a few of Mick's favourite things
And then I know what they're for
