What was that all about? Couldn’t read it and it seems there was a bit of friction among fans when it was hoisted up.

People are ignorant for peacefully protesting against Islamic extremism?

Wow.

Yep, that's definitely what I posted. Oh, hang on, no it wasn't.
People are ignorant, as in ignoring key issues, if they sign up to be part of a group which has shady usual suspects with links to the right in it or speaking for it, under the guise of "we don't like any extremism and are politically central."
If you were genuinely setting up a politically central group against all extremism you'd get your house in order to start with and make damn sure the speakers you invite etc were not tarnished, and that you were seen to be condemning and marching against all extremism. Not just picking Islamic extremism.
If you want to set up a group only condemning Islamic extremism then crack on and call it what it is, accepting the sh1t that goes with it, but don't do it under the flag of being part of the middle ground and hating all extremism when your actions show this is not the case.

Political group?

Before this FLA group has hardly established there are many on here labelling it as right wing / extreme / not welcome. Let's see where it goes.

The FLA has been around months and its links to Robinson and his band of scum has been established since nearly day one.

Let's not confuse the two yet again.

From the article posted earlier:

FLA founder John Meighan said: “Politically, we’re not left, we’re not right, we’re centre middle and representing everyone against all forms of extremism"

“But while the attacks in Manchester, Westminster and London Bridge were highlighted on the June 24 protest, there was little mention of the terrorist attack at Finsbury Park mosque (a stones’ throw away from Arsenal’s Emirates stadium)."
“There was also no mention, one year on, of the murdered Labour MP Jo Cox, who died at the hands of a far right extremist, Thomas Mair, who shouted 'Britain First' as he killed her."
“Any movement that was serious about opposing extremism would surely have invited a Muslim fan to speak and represent their opposition to the terrorism of the far right and ISIS.”
"Stand Up To Racism also highlighted that some of the speakers at the June rally included Toni Bugle, who had run for election for the far-right English Democrats."

Doesn't matter how old or young the group is, this is always the shrugged answer from UKIP, EDL etc when pushed about far right idiots. It's actions so far have shown it isn't truly serious with meeting it's own brief. Like I said previously if you want to be anti Islamic extremism just do it, don't try and act middle of the road when you aren't.
It would be pretty straightforward to set up a group truly against all extremism and have speakers from Muslim backgrounds too, as well as making sure you at least skim over things like the van driving at the mosque and Jo Coxs murder.

Much as Joe and I have already said, a lot of the involved simply feel that they "want to do their bit" and have either not thought through any far right connotations or just got caught up in what seems to them to be a decent idea. In saying this, I do have 3 acquaintances in attendance, who have expressed their far right leanings openly.

Looking at some of the FB stuff on Saturday night, I don't think the collective arguments from the "liberal lefties on TWTD's" will make one iota of difference to their feelings on this matter.

Let's see what Saturday's march brings and whether they have their eyes & minds opened.

Please note: prior to hitting the post button, I've double checked for anything that could be construed as "Anti Semitic" and to the best of my knowledge it isn't. Anything deemed to be of a Xenophobic nature is therefore purely accidental or down to your own misconstruing.

True, I don't think I'm persuading anyone, just find it frustratring.
I guess the trouble is how gradual it can be and what would make an individual involved "wake up".
I'm not saying it will definitely creep towrds the far right, but if it does will those everyday salt of the earth blokes involved really care/ notice? If at the moment they are shrugging off/ ignoring dodgy types, will they look into/ care if it starts getting nastier?
Maybe they will and it will all be a great source of help to the country, and in that respect good luck to them. It just shows all the worrying signs of going t1ts up.
A beardy spotty leftie liberal socialist scumbag type like myself isn't going to make them care, and why should it?!
