You did get a bit confused by the 1 million figure though didn't you? 50% of 1 million is actually 500,000.

I am quoting the figures for population increase, not immigration. That's immigration and population risr due to less deaths and more births.
This COMBINED isn't even close to 400,000 a year for the next 10 years let alone 1,000,000.
I even gave a nice link to the article itself, which included actual stats and a handy graph. The population of the UK will not rise by ten million in the next 25-30 years, let alone 10 years. Check it out.

As far as I can see Benters has said not a lot about immigration - no idea as to his views. However, IF true and we're giving out handouts to absolute nutjobs, what the hell are we playing it? Now that begs the question of why, in a country of around a million unemployed, are the NHS having to import labour to complete the very crucial, but very low skilled task of cleaning? |
When in the UK, I worked for the NHS for 10 years.
Met loads of cool people from all around the world.
The often foreign cleaners often had a far greater passion to work than many of the UK citizens I worked with who were often not the most productive!
I'll never forget being in a meeting with several doctors when it was important we got a highly qualified Somalian translater for a very important case.
The doctors deemed it appropriate to suggest getting a Somali toilet cleaner to do the job to huge applause/ laughter in the room. Just disgusting. | | | |
