I caught up with MotD yesterday. I reckon the number of Premier League players I could name/recognise is now one or two per team (unless they're "big" names). Same goes with the England team. Although this could be to do with my age (and related to my complete lack of interest rather than memory loss). |  |

There's been a number of pull outs to be fair - but Southgate is talking in riddles abou certain players - e.g. Wilshere
I'd much rather see Wilshere in there ahead of Livermore but he isn't calling him up because :
- He's not played enough PL footy this season, despite trying to call up Drinkwater who has played 22 minutes
- he's playing a more advanced role for Arsenal which is different to one he wants for England
So He's now saying that players have to be playing regularly for England and playing in a similar role which is really going to limit things......
......and is massiveky hypocritical when Loftus-Cheek is playing on the right for Palace, Livermore is playing as a CM in a Pulis team and he wants him to play possession footy etc etc
I worry that he hasn't got a clue, nothing I've seen from him convinces me and it'll be another World Cup wasted |  |

He comes out after every game, when the midfield has consisted of 2 of Henderson, Dier and Livermore, and says we didn't keep the ball well enough, we didn't pass it about well enough, etc.
It's not their game, and by picking them and asking them to play like that you're asking for trouble. He didn't pick Smalling for this squad as said he isn't good enough on the ball and we now have a midfield of Dier and Livermore, again, who couldn't keep the ball against Scotland. It's opathetic
It's like Mick moaning that Chambers and Smith didn't bring the ball out of defence well enough - pick players that fit roles even if they are considered worse players on the whole | |

Even before these injuries the midfield looked the worst it's ever been.. Then it's stooped to a whole new level.
