I think your final paragragh is IT in a knutshell, and refelcts why there is an air of stagnation...because thats exactly what we are in. An Evans induced "tick - over until I can offload "

McCarthy fits PERFECTLY into his ethos of risk management , and in many ways us fans should accept MM has done a brillaint job with zero funds ......but I personally cant stomach the man and his ways any longer. Will I regret when he leaves in the summer ? Probably

Agreed. We're stuck in a loop at the moment and it seems only a lot of investment or some kind of wonder manager will change our fortunes. The former won't change so the removal of MM is the next natural step to provoke some kind of a reaction to change the fortunes of this club. He's done well overall, no arguing there but now in the 6th season we have to look to different horizons.

....that a loan in was a "short term fix", whereas a loan out was a "departure".

I bet when we signed a Cardiff city reserve on loan nearly a year to the day he was branded as a ‘short term fix’

Yes, potentially which changes of the complexion of the 6 million he 'loses' annually. If its a straight toss up of paying the HMRC or channeling it into ITFC, the notion that 'he invests his own money'' has a slightly different air to it.

All speculation obviously until anyone of us goes through the books but given he's got companies in 15 countries, this is a painstaking task for any accountant.

You don't need to be an accountant to see how this works, you just need a basic understanding of tax.

And there have been accountants and tax advisers who post on here who have confirmed what everyone else is saying - i.e. that whilst the investment into ITFC is tax deductible, it is still costing him 80% of what he sticks in supposing his companies make a profit elsewhere.

true , but at least it is FINALLY getting some press coverage and questions finally being asked of the owner/ manager.

If only they were asked those questions we might get some answers. Trouble is that Evans is silent and we only hear from his sidekick!

So he puts in 4.8 million of his own money, not 6 million?

Somewhere around there, depending on how rest of his Group is doing but that shouldn’t be far off

Clearly a massive “ investment “, then ! Little wonder we are treading water each season. I don’t like the style of Football, but not everything is McCarthy s fault. Evans should take a large proportion of the flack, but he skilfully avoids it doesn’t he!

In a nutshell, yes

So Evans is indeed still losing money on us

He doesn't avoid paying for the annual losses though.

Skilfully or otherwise.

Will you please buy the club as you seem financially very acute?

How much of his money does he need to put in before you consider it to be an investment?

When is money paid for running cost , considered an investment?

Do costs of player signings and wages and the cost of the academy not qualify as investment then? If that's the case then no owner can be considered to be investing in their club.
