I find it quite perplexing and amazing that half a century after this all went down, clever people like yourself STILL fall for the "well they're called National Socialists! Checkmate guise". Why do you think they changed their name? To appeal to socialists, they wanted the support.

He literally murdered the socialists in his own party, the idea he was fine with socialists or a socialist himself is just bad history. Sure, he didn't much like capitalism either, he thought it was a Jewish concept, but that does not make him a socialist.

Communism and Fascism share some similarities, just like Anarcho-Capitalism shares some principles with left wing anarchists but their ideals could not be further from each other. But Nazism completed replaced a core part of socialism (class struggle) and replaced it with race.

Sir Richard John Evans, a historian who has quite a bit of experience with Nazi Germany said: "it would be wrong to see Nazism as a form of, or an outgrowth of, socialism"

It's just utter nonsense.

But it's in the name!

It makes me wonder if Luke has some sort of agenda against Momentum.

I hope he has, I hope any right minded liberal fair individual has.

They are fascists pure and simple.

You realise it doesn't even say momentum in the tweet? It says antifa which means anti fascist and is a broad, global movement and has nothing to do with momentum.

Just like most other things this is the right smearing the left.

Says it all about Labour under Corbyn. He will not overtly support this but this group of thugs is taking over what is a great party.

I'm not a labour voter but their core objective of fairness is something which I love.

Momentum are am embarrassment. My Uncle in his late 70's and a lifelong labour voter and campaigner, is saddened by Corbyn and this new group of thugs. He tells me that grass roots activists are furious and feeling bullied.

Not good for democracy.

On another note, if you look at the thugs in the video and substitute 'left wing' for 'right wing' there would be national outcry. These creatures are a thrown back to thug politics and should be burned at the stake.

This isn't momentum. Ignore Luke's erroneous title and read the actual tweet.

It amazes me the lengths people go to to pin stuff on Corbyn. This is literally NOTHING to do with him, or Labour. Fake news.

I bet Bloots will downarrow this.

Why do you say Momentum supporters? The tweet even says "hard left AntiFa".

I see lower down in the thread you say one of them has "apparently" been identified as supporting Momentum, but I'm still baffled as to why you call them Momentum supporters. Why not just call them antifa like it says?

But yes, I agree, JRM comes out better than these morons.

Antifa is just a cunning way to label yourself to get away with being a fascist.

Even in the 80s the anti nazi league types I knew were the most bigoted and aggressive lot of w@nkers around

You certainly do not require a '£9k degree to sail in to a well paid job'

I know tradesmen earning in excess of £300 a day, not a degree between them.

Just hard work, and no whinging about how bad their luck is.

Great stuff!

That's a weird idea, calling yourself anti fascist then being fascists??

Yes, they were aggressive against fascists.

That's why they're anti fascists.

Remember like in the war when people were violent, against fascists. That didn't make them fascists themselves.

The video goes 'viral'. Someone recognises him and names him. People find his other social media accounts and link them on Twitter. From there it's simply to find what you're looking for.

With this having taken place at a university I would be surprised if this whole process took longer than an hour after that video was first posted. Probably done within minutes.

Well exactly, and linking it to Labour is a bigger prize than linking it to Momentum.

It fits wonderfully with certain potsers' 'Jezza hates Britain' opinion so will be accepted without questioning.

Even if one of them did vote Corbyn (not sure how what you've posted proves anything) that doesn't make this a momentum or indeed Labour protest. It literally says "antifa" in the tweet!

Nice try though Glassers. The Corbyn smear campaign continues.

I'm a baby-boomer, and for the most part agree with Tractor-Wood.

I certainly couldn't have afforded to buy a house on my £6/week wages as a secretary in London in the mid 60s! but certainly could have walked into any job I wanted, and had I had the inclination to work for A levels, could have had a full grant for a first degree (but hated school, so left just before my 16th birthday).

Worry about the environment wasn't yet a thing (I think it started in late 1962 with R. Carson's 'Silent Spring'), nor was terrorism (tho we did have the cold war of course), the economy was booming - and above all, there was a spirit of hope and optimism about that things would carry on getting better for all of us.

It really was a golden era, and we were lucky enough to be the golden generation, something I've never stopped appreciating. I feel v. sorry for today's youngsters who've inherited so many problems because politicians haven't been conscientious or bright enough to think long-term*. *Honourable exceptions for Harold Wilson & Jenny Lee, who between them created the Open University, which I've massively benefited from - and which I got a full grant for in the 1970s from Leeds City Council.

Poll: Why can't/don't we protest like the French do? 🤔
