Obviously I'm a tip top driver with a clean as a whistle record. However, my Mrs wants to learn and I can't for the life of me recall how many hours of lessons I had before I took my test.
Do any of you good folk remember how many hours you had? |  |

I think I had around 35 hours, something like that.
Parents brought me a block of 10, 2 hour lessons for my 17th birthday (some 9 years ago now!), and then I had several more after that. Passed first time, 6 minors. Happy days! |  |

Yer, it was somewhere around that. Completed the 10 that my parents got me, then another 6/7 after that on top. | |

Took around 100 hours for me, failed my practical 6 times and eventually passed by the skin of my teeth. |  |

Is your wife a confident person or do you think she will be scared of learning to drive?
With our children we took them out for lessons when they were 17 and then paid for a few lessons with a instructor to get them ready for the test.

She'll be fine. I dread teaching her myself though, she's an impatient type and never listens to me (even though I'm obviously always right). | |

Dunno, but I remember the suspension collapsing on an Austin 1300 I was learning in. Passed first time, 2 weeks after cracking a bone in my arm when falling off my motorbike. Had to take the sling off to take the test.

I have actually had the privilege of passing my theory test twice due the delay in doing my test the second time around
I was 43/50 twice and failed on 42/50 I believe
I believe as a crazy quirk of the test. I actually had a higher total score on the failed test because I had got more on the hazard perception part. |  |

It was 14 hours of official lessons for me (plus an odd few drives in mum and dads car) and passed first time. We only had 1 hour lessons then though so it was just over 3 months from start to finish. |  |
