I agree but I think it is an easy mistake for them to see a club that has performed better than previous years, just missed out on promotion through the play-offs and think give him a bigger budget he will do better.
It is the sort of mistake most clubs make when they come down and think they are better than everyone else in the league. |  |

I wouldn't even care. All their fans who called us cloggers, hoofers, dirty bastards, talentless, etc etc and thought they were a much bigger and better club than us just because they played better football would have a breakdown if they ended up with Mick.
Them getting promoted with Mick would then only enhance their reputation across the country as a long ball physical side, winding them up even more [Post edited 22 May 2018 21:29]

When he took over from Steve McClaren at Derby in March 2017 they were 10th on a poor run of form, that doesn't give him long to turn things around. This season they have finished in the play offs. There have been other managers that have struggled at Derby with similar budgets, but I bet most of their supporters would accept play offs most seasons which he has achieved. What he did at Birmingham City was impressive too, look who has managed them since and they have been nowhere near what he achieved at St Andrews. [Post edited 23 May 2018 8:11]
