It will be good to have a couple of players in the squad who are familiar with each other.

Is that when fans all have the same viewpoint?

I'd rather players like Nydam stay here and play in the first team. So my view - not the same as all other fans - is fairly consistent

You cannot help but admire Hurst's genius idea.

We've not beaten Norwich in 9 years, so he's literally rebuilding the last Town side to beat them.

That reminds me. Alan Quinn's phone number anyone?

This.

Maybe because it's painfully apparent we need some older heads in there and the manager has rightly seen this and is addressing it. Let's be honest there's not a whole raft of players with nearly 10 years worth of top flight experience willing to join Town these days either.

It's time to make the best of it.

McAuley's the same age as me.

If he's kept himself in shape (much like my good self) he'll be fine for 90 mins, as fast as he ever was......it's just the 3 days afterwards where he'll be wasted lol!

I quit five-a-side last year. Whilst I could keep up with the youngungs, it was waking up the next morning and taking 10 mins to shuffle to the toilet for a p*ss that was my downfall lol!

Seriously though, 38 these days isn't old. I've recently started looking at simple things like Park Run stats and there's plenty of 40 year olds running 5 min miles and Anthony Noel was running sub 11 second 100m well into his forties.

Age concern aint like it was.

Think back to the stories from Beattie and Co, what they'd eat and do after games and midweek. It's a whole world away from that.

Beattie and co.

The cigarettes before the games and at half time.

I suppose the leveler probably was that the opponents were doing it too.

I can still remember Beattie and Hunter being interviewed by the BBC in the changing room after the Cup Final both chugging away on cigarettes still in full kit!

I am 33 and agree I can still for the most part play and keep up with people 10 years younger although you do lose recovery in your 30's. You'd hope a professional was better placed to do that then ourselves, mind you 5-a-side can be intense at any age - no hiding in that gane! Love it!

It's time to make the best of it.
