Does anyone know how many teams bottom of the Championship on 11:49 - Dec 5 with 2415 views | wkj | I know of a club who has been second at Christmas, and barely made the play offs at the end of the season... more than once... and not talking about Derby. Last year didn't Millwall suddenly go on a run? I think its still on the cards we can escape, but the results have to come soon, and come fast.

Yeah, there was something about this a couple of weeks ago. Only 1 had survived with such a low total, or something like that. In short, there's as much chance of me finding Rachel Riley in my stocking at Christmas (or the other way round ideally, not that it matters as it's very, very, very unlikely to happen). Of course, if we transform things and suddenly turn into a solid top-half team we may be able to claw our way out....

Does anyone know how many teams bottom of the Championship on 12:17 - Dec 5 with 2297 views | Superblue95 | I seem to recall Bolton looking dead and buried last season (2 points from 11 games or something crazy like that) but they still survived

Does anyone know how many teams bottom of the Championship on 12:30 - Dec 5 with 2264 views | homer_123 | It is quite possible that by Xmas we are looking at needing in the region of 1.7 to 1.9 points per game to stay up, assuming current form continues and results go against us with teams in our near vicinity. That's a wee bit scary.....it kind of doesn't matter what's gone before. It merely depends on whether we are good enough to stay up....not sure the current squad is and I'm not sure we'll have a decent enough squad after the January transfer window.

1.5 points a game with the remaining games would mean we finish on 50 points. (Winning every other game) Usually safe, but Blackburn did get relegated with 51 points two seasons ago. In 12/13 P'Boro were relegated with 54 points and Wolves with 51 points. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

This is the reality - winning every other game, or drawing consistently and winning every 3rd or so with no losses. And then you still see people saying 'if we can pick up a couple of wins by January...'. We need a fantastical escape of Leicester-esque proportions.

Going on that basis, we would need 9 points from the following games: Stoke (Away) Wigan (Home) Shef Utd (Home) M'Boro (Away) QPR (Away) *holds back tears*

We simply have to start winning our home games to stand a chance. People seem to give up on games like Sheffield Utd just because they are near the top. They are not Barcelona and we have no reason to be scared of them. We are constantly told anybody can beat anybody in this league, its' about time the players started proving this on the pitch.
