I wonder how much it really means to fans when you know it'll be you or the other team who wins it every year. Wouldn't that be like continuing to play a video game you've beaten? Where's the fun in it?

I get what you’re saying, but they probably know they need to enjoy it while they’re having their time in the sun. It’s cyclical isn’t it, it wasn’t long ago that it was Man United or Chelsea that everyone hated. But yeah, probably would lose its appeal slightly. Mind you, as unthinkable as it is, I can’t see myself ever getting bored with Ipswich winning the league even if we were massively bankrolled (not that I want that particularly) | |

I think the cycle may have been broken now though. Unless their owners get bored of them there are only so many Dr Evil types who want to waste their money on a football club.

I was thinking exactly the same watching the City fans today. Of course they wanted to win it, and at the time it probably felt massive but let’s face it, they win it last year, they’ll probably win it next year, and they’re going to win 2 cups.
I doubt it would have broken their hearts had they missed out.
I doubt many United fans can even remember all the titles they’ve won in their lifetime, yet another reason I love supporting town. You’ve got to have the lows to enjoy the highs properly.
