Think it was more the case that Hurst had been told by ME there was no budget as such, but anything PH could generate through sales, he could spend a % of.... so PH promptly flogged the player he thought he could get the most money for at the shortest notice.

Not sure Webster knew quite that quickly what a disaster Hurst and DD were going to become.

In hindsight a lot of decision making could have been better between April and August 2018 although hindsight was not needed in every case.

I don't think Hurst had much to do with Webster's exit. He'd only been here a couple of days when the offer came in, Webster made it clear he wanted to go - there had been interest in January - so they didn't stand in his way.
