Tonight’s result is more recent. This result is much much worse....


Football had only just been invented when 9-0 happened to us. Back then, it was jumpers for goalposts and some geezer from the Dog and Duck drafted in to make up the numbers. There is also some doubt as to whether the tally was accurate especially as it was played without nets and thus some goals were later disputed. Tonight was actually played in the present and so the result has far greater significance.
