The UK does have rich people and people in poverty. His argument is that people at the top should bear the burden of taxation to help people out of poverty, rather than people who are in low paid work ( many of whom are in poverty themselves.) Under Labour's tax plan, someone earning £85,000 per year would pay an extra £21 in tax per month, hardly revolutionary stuff.
And going back to your previous point about working hard, surely you don't believe that all people in poverty don't work hard? | |
