Marcus Evans, I thought, is a very rich man. I am not suggesting we go mad and fall foul of financial fair play and similar regulations but surely we do not have to sell our best players for a couple of £million and even pay a few million on bringing in new players. Lambert did help take us down, but I think the damage had perhaps already been done, as Hurst had recruited too many players without championship experience. I think Lamberts recruitment has been quite positive. Things seem to be clicking at the right time |

Think the amount he spends isnt the issue its more a case of HOW it has previously been spent!

To date he has spent about £60-70 million of capital on the club. Player sales have been used to subsidise other costs. He has not taken any money out of the club - which is not surprising given it doesn’t make ANY money with the exception of one or two seasons - and then only due to player sales.
Anyone who understands business will see it’s a bad business to be owner of Ipswich, and it costs £6-10m a year for the privilege. | | | |

Give it a rest. These wild and lazy pub allegations against him are not based on any evidence and have been shown to be nonsense. He hasn’t taken any money out of the club, but put £60-70m in, and any offset against his other tax is limited and he’s still worse off. |

So where is your evidence that he has taken money out of the club for his own gain or that the club is somehow “just a front” for something else (whatever that means).
As I say, unless you can substantiate these allegations, then apart from looking like a tit it’s also pretty unreasonable to slate a man who has kept the club afloat and subsidised tens of millions of losses. Several other clubs would have been grateful for this - ask a Bury or Chester fan. | | | |
