What an extraordinary moon tonight 20:18 - Feb 26 with 413 viewsRyorry

Anyone else notice not only the ordinary dark part, which you could just make out in its entirety, but also what looked like a partial eclipse? ie it seemed as though the dark part was in itself a complete, separate, grey spherical object which was starting to drift across it. Could it have been this?

Also, there was an extremely bright star in the west just above it at about 6.30pm which has been there for a while now - anyone know what that is?

Father in law was very excited about the ‘star’. Called me outside and told me it is Venus.

I haven’t validated that, because I don’t give two sh*ts.

According to my Sky Map app the star is either Uranus or Venus. They're both pretty close, hard to tell which.

Venus is very bright. Not sure how well you would see Uranus (all puns apart).

When I say close, I mean on the map. I can only see one bright star near the moon, so I'm guessing it's Venus.
