Marcus Evans perspective 17:20 - Feb 29 with 4864 viewsjobsworthblue

He has a 5 year plan with Lambert at the heart of it

The fact this season has not successful doesn’t mean the long term plan will change

So knuckle down and enjoy the 5 year contract

I'm sure that Lambo can have us as a top-half conference side in no time.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

That's rather what concerns me. An ineffective 5 year plan with the determination to stick to it.

He always has 5 year plans. They change continuously.

It's more the form over this long period of time that's the concern, apart from the blip at the beginning of the season. They're all to blame for me: the owner, PL and his coaching staff and the players. What needs to be done to turn this drifting ship around? I'm not talking about this season because in reality it's over for us, I'm talking in the long term.

Does anyone really think there is any plan for progressing the club at all? Lambert had to beg for a cheap tin of paint for the portacabin before the season. The only plan I can see is for Evans to ‘sweat the asset’, keep cutting costs and flog any player showing promise as fast as possible.

There's no plan at all. If anything, ME's plan is based on how he feels each morning. As a leader, I don't think you could get someone that's so uninspiring. That's why that lot up the road do it so much better than us off the pitch as well as on it.

Marcus has had quite a few plans in his time. None of them have worked and this one won’t either.

Once our stay in League 1 is confirmed our better youngsters will be sold and we will bump along in mid-table for a few seasons until Evans penny pinching gets us relegated once more.

It won’t take five years to achieve that, whoever the manager is!

And they wilt under the fact that all his managers bar one see their sides undergo long losing runs.

Towards the end MM's reign that run of form wasn't particularly great either.

There is no plan. That will become obvious as more talent is sold.

As has been pointed out 5 point not 5 year

I’m thinking Keane’s 15 game winless run, Jewell’s seven defeats in the spin, Hurst’s 13 game wait for a victory and now Lambert’s response to going top on Jan 25, 4 points out of 21.

McCarthy at his worst was still streets ahead of these guys at their best.

I take it this is a wind up? The academy is due to be halved at the end of the season if we do not go up! The coaches and players are leaving in droves from the academy. We actively tout our best players from the academy each season to premier league teams and our rivals to "finance" the academy- I know this first hand as my son is at the academy. The coaches despise Evans and Lambert. Those that are left anyway.

... it doesn’t mean Evans will sell so many STs or match day tickets either!

I’ll continue to go - but next season will see reduced crowds, particularly as the PR surrounding the manager has changed. No longer that feel good factor.

I’ve heard something similar.

Is it correct there are several coaching vacancies that are already unfilled as part of cost cutting, and that Lambert has completely separated the first team squad from the Academy at the training ground? I was told they cannot even mix in the same areas now which, if true, is a disgrace.
