a man who can come in, wave amgic wand and all the reasons that has led to the slow downward spiral over the past 17 years will be wiped away in a jiffy
a man who has hardly left behind a trail of thriving clubs once he has been shown the door
a delusion fired by the belief that we have a right to be higher up the table so forget the failing youth system, the falling down stadium, the crappy squad lets bring in a magic man who will deliver all our dreams in one simple action

Great, and then we'll be in the same position in 12 months time when the football on show is sh*t and we'll be calling for his head as well. Would just about sum Evans up if this happens.
No, no, no.... he’ll get us up and then he can leave. Then we get a manager in who will take the club forward and for a prolong period of time!

Yes I think that was the situation, we started discussing a new contract with Lambert while the going was good. It then went to crap and we decided to consider other options including Warnock, Lambert threw his toys out of his pram to the press because his contract talks had stalled and Evans blinked first, giving him a 5 year deal despite the complete collapse of our form.
This makes an awful lot of sense and really doesn’t show our owner in a very good light as an operator.
It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

The journalist in question will be onto something with this. It's too late though and doing it now would sum up many elements of the Evans approach perfectly — the hesitancy, the patch and mend, the decent ideas at exactly the wrong times. Not even Colin can get five or six straight wins out of us at this point.
