1) The pub and venue owners/managers I know were saying on social they were covered by unforeseen or forced closure. In fact many music venues have appealed for crowdfunding to stay open based on the lack of closure.
2) What you do with your insurance is your business but a lot clearly do.
3) I don’t recall those words but what he said and what we see happening in the hospitality trade don’t add up if that’s the case.
1/ You're information pool is a cesspit of misinformation.
2/ Never suggested otherwise.
3/ 100% said it.
When asked that very question in relation to closures and insurance claims "he assured businesses that the government’s action will allow them to make claims against insurance policies covering pandemic losses"
Unless you work for them, or can see their ins and outs you have absolutely no right to make the comment.
I've declared on this forum before that I work(ed) in hospitality in the town centre...I have knowledge of way more than just those two establishments....and indeed have worked for one of the aforementioned. Totally have the right.

I can fully understand why the owners would take the approach they have, sh1tty as it is for all employees. There will be a lot more of this over the coming months - without wanting to get too deep on the matter, capitalism is ill suited to support people in situations like this.

What a weird reply. You made 3 points. I made 3 back. Reasonable and fair. Yet I get a mouthful back. Chill out.
I’ve spent half my life floating around venues, know a lot of people involved in them around the country and I’ve got a lot of close friends active in the live music industry. I have seen a lot of the same from them. I’ve signed 3 petitions being circulated by pubs and venues demanding they are closed to claim their insurance.
So is a good third of my FB friends who work and run these places also cesspits of misinformation too? As it seems unlikely.
As for the comment from yesterday, that’s not the same thing is it? They have forced closure insurance and kicking that in would have covered them and saved a lot of jobs. “Pandemic insurance” is very different.
mos has made plenty of good posts on here, some of them could even be seen as left of centre, and I specifically recall one where I was put right on when to use 'its' or 'it's' for possessives. I suspect he/she is a bit older than 16, or even older than 12.
Not everyone looks like their avatar, I am not bald and not a thirteenth century Italian monk arriving at Clonmacnoise either. Although I am only a year younger than factual as far as I can make out...

For the love of God, this week has been hard enough without yet more brutal truths! At least I'm genuinely a moose...

No.
Where did I give you a mouthful back? I can't see where it is. I said your Your information pool is a cesspit of misinformation. It is. Social Media is a cesspit of misinformation, of that there is no doubt.
Fast forward to 43.43
