Still 15,000 passengers landing in the UK every day.... on 17:13 - Apr 16 by factual_blue | Does that include the planeload of Romanians flown in to pick fruit and veg? As I've pointed out before, British people aren't willing to do this physically demanding work. And at the moment there are people short of money, but still they won't pick fruit. And, moreover, even if the wages were a great deal higher, British people still wouldn't do it. brexit will work though. Honest [Post edited 16 Apr 2020 17:15]

That's the problem. They are bringing fruit/veg pickers from Romania by plane. Giving them a caravan to live in probably paying cash in hand (no tax) . If a brit took the job he would have to drive to site put in a shift drive home again and pay tax & NI. that's why I voted leave

I'm not sure what you are getting at here. Even after Brexit it would always be the case that Romanians, Bulgarians etc were going to come over to pick fruit and veg, they were on a list of approved industries. Same as care staff. British people for whatever reason are inadequate, they simply cannot or will not do this work en masse. By the time a farmer trains the average Brit he or she is already half dead.

Interesting. Didn’t know British people don’t do cash in hand jobs. Funny really, despite your vote, getting Brexit done, and a Global pandemic, Romanians are still coming over here stealing jobs. I guess another solution is required.

To be honest Leaky I confess I was being a bit ironic as you have probably had a beer and your spelling and grammar are a bit wonky.
