Face coverings mandatory on public transport from the 15th June on 18:43 - Jun 4 with 1020 views | DebsyAngel | I cannot wear them as I have asthma and blocked nose (which I cannot get seen about at ENT for goodness knows how long), but I am hoping showing the driver on bus my inhaler will be enough proof. Also due to my anxiety, I am having worse problems breathing especially when I am as stressed as I have been this week.

You don't have to wear them. Don't worry., your driver will let you on. Try not to think to much about it. Most people are sensible, so you will be fine.

well how does that work if they are "mandatory" ? other than no doubt as the rest of the legislation theyve draw up for this so far there will be a gaping hole you can drive a truck through and Shapps is talking out of his fundamental that youll actually be fined for it. however the fact remains alot of whats said in these briefings Joe Public then believes to be the law and starts judging and even acting against those they believe are following the new law, so youll almost certainly be refused on board. wouldnt be so bad if they actually said "and we recognise if you have asthma you may not be able to comply with this" but they dont, because they havent thought about it

It says "young children (2 or under), the disabled and people with breathing problems. I have my doctors number if they want to question it. And why else would I be carrying an inhaler for??

Face coverings mandatory on public transport from the 15th June on 17:31 - Jun 4 by SpruceMoose | We've had to wear them over here for a few months now. They're pretty easy to make yourself, there are patterns on line, or you can just use a bandanna type set up. Feels strange going into a bank mind you... Anyone who has breathing difficulties, or the elderly, might struggle walking around in one once the summer heat and humidity really gets going though. |
My bad as well. I read it as face masks, but it actually says 'coverings' doesn't it. So anything will do - off to get myself a burkha.

I don't think a ball gag would be acceptable as it would leave your nostrils uncovered.

I got stopped at the Luzhniki Stadium by a Russian soldier back when Town played Torpedo Moscow and asked "what was this?", as he searched me before we went in and found my inhaler, its for asthma I replied, blank looks, I had to demonstrate using it to them before they accepted it wasnt some form of whatever they thought it might have been the rules as they end up as they are applied, as against what MPs brief at these press conferences, might well say that people with breathing problems like asthma are ok and dont have to comply, great thanks Grant Shapps for not making that clear in the announcement because I can guarantee everyone else took away from todays press conference, and the press will double down and amplify it up tomorrow, you must wear a mask, its is MANDATORY, that wasnt followed up with a list of the allowed exceptions. so where does that leave us ? we are in that position now where we know technically we should be ok, but everyone else thinks we are in the wrong, and we might have to try and argue our way on board a bus or a train as a result.

Face coverings mandatory on public transport from the 15th June on 17:54 - Jun 4 by sparks | Bizarre. Even a week ago it wasnt considered necessary. A month ago, transport was packed at times and it wasnt even recommended. Having relaxed everything for several weeks, they now introduce another measure. No logic to it at all. |
It's like they've been treating it as an election campaign and have set timings for launching the big 'retail offer' policies.

Face coverings mandatory on public transport from the 15th June on 18:09 - Jun 4 by SpruceMoose | The way I see it, if you're wearing a mask, you're probably also of the mindset that you're washing your hands and you're giving other people space in public. To be honest they're so common place here now that if I see someone without a mask I'll instantly assume that they're either some kind of Republican chud making a knuckle headed political statement, or a selfish tw@t. |
“The way I see it, if you're wearing a mask, you're probably also of the mindset that you're washing your hands and you're giving other people space in public.“ My experience in my local supermarket tends to disagree with this. It’s often the people in the masks that seem to have far less respect for other people’s space. I assume they think wearing a mask makes them immune.

That's nothing, I got stopped going into Carrot Road once by a WPC and ordered to empty my pockets. When I produced my glasses case she said 'What's that?'
