I'm not surprised they are annoyed, Posh are the biggest losers from PPG. They were in 4th Place and in good form, certainly better than Wycombe who were slipping away but with a bit of PPG magic now get a shot at promotion. If we were in that situation I would be annoyed too. Thank heavens PL made sure that we had no such heartache.

4th place? I thought they were 7th?

Either way, it's hard to have too much sympathy for a side that have been between 3rd and 8th all season moaning about not being promoted. Be better at what you're doing so you're at the top if you want promotion.

4th, best goal difference in the league, in great form, unbeatable at home, looking likely to get into the top two.

So yeah, can kind of understand their frustration that they aren't even in the play-offs!

RIP Sir Bobby

In actual fact it looks like they were 6th. The TWTD tables link is missing a game for Fleetwood and Portsmouth.

Nevertheless the point still stands, they were in the play-offs and in good form, much better form than Wycombe who have leap-frogged into 3rd place on PPG.

They have every right to feel hard done by.

How can anyone be in good form?
There hasn’t been any matches since March.

Fleetwood drew with Pompey - if either side had won, Peterborough would have been in the play-offs!

Made even worse that Wycombe’s game in hand was against Coventry.

Even worse is that PPG system didn't take into account the difference in points achieved in home & away games. Posh had more home games left to play whereas Wycombe, and I believe a couple of the other play-off teams, had a majority of away games left to play. If PPG had been calculated separately for home & away Posh would have finished 5th.

It’s rubbish for posh and I’d be gutted if we were in their position.

It’s obviously the least bad way of doing it though. Whatever they decided someone would lose out but PPG is the only remotely fair way of deciding imo.
