It's very, very quiet.

Jon Steads Harrogate Town... on 16:20 - Aug 2 with 2644 views | WeWereZombies | The game got a mention towards the end of the FA Cup coverage due to referee Anthony Taylor being from Altrincham (although Wikipedia says born in Wythenshawe) so I guess the Chelsea fans are rooting for Harrogate. [edit] Just looked up the score and see that it is Notts County, so what the feck was the game featuring Altrincham? [another edit] Ah, Altrincham are already up, this is the play off final. Sorry, Chelsea fans... [Post edited 2 Aug 2020 16:23]

Thanks Gainsboroughblue, it doesn’t give them long to turn it round. It’s a shame really, they’ve invested upwards of £500k to install that surface and it all has to go.

Probably an indicator of how much they have exceeded their expectations!

I've played on that actual surface - we used it in a walking football game about 18 months ago! I think they'll be alright to install a turf one at this time of year.

Kills a lot of revenue streams though for what could be one year of league football

Would they have continued to rent out pitch time anyway now that they're in the league? One of their biggest problems as they expand the capacity of the ground will be getting fans to and from the stadium unless they walk (about 1 - 1.5miles from town centre). They don't have a car park except for players & staff, and Wetherby Road is the worst blackspot for traffic jams in town, usually rammed solid for 1-2 miles even in the middle of the day Mon-Sat inclusive.

I'm sure they would have done, means the pitch can work for them as an income stream for lots of hours in the week - also means all those currently using it will need to relocate etc which is ashame for the local community
