Still think that given McGavin's youth, and the fact it had happened before, that if P.L. wanted to do that, then better to start Nolan for 25 mins, then bring the youngster on for final 20. [Post edited 24 Aug 2020 10:33]

I make you right, we're speculating of course we are and yes there could be some innocent explanation like he had a knock and appeared upset because of that. But it really didn't look like that, it looked like he didn't expect to be taken off and was quite upset by it.
Hopefully somebody put their arm around him at a later date and talked it through with him and no harm was done. But it certainly looked like poor management one way or another (and I have no axe to grind with Lambert on this), it's very fair speculation and I don't know why some have replied rather aggressively to your suggestion. | |
