Are people seriously flouncing over this result? 21:52 - Sep 8 with 4090 views | tractordownsouth | It's a glorified friendly. Wasn't a great result but we hit the woodwork 3 times and had the ball cleared off the line too, so it's not as if we weren't creating. Thought Judge had a decent game too. I'm slightly worried about the CB situation going into Sunday and it doesn't look like KVY or Jackson will be back, but really don't think tonight is any cause for concern.

The league is all that matters and in a short game-packed season I would happily bin off the league cup and EFL trophy. I don't think we should have an issue with people saying we played crap though if that's their opinion.

Blimey - that Arsenal 'fan' really needs to get out more Maybe remind him of the result the last time their first team visited PR [Post edited 9 Sep 2020 10:13]

Are people seriously flouncing over this result? on 22:14 - Sep 8 by IpswichKnight | I didn’t think our centre halves played badly they were let down by having a midfield that couldn’t tackle at all in front of them. We need Downes back. |
It was a couple of defensive mistakes where we aren't marking, not sure how PL gets the blame here? Does he have to go on the pitch and show experienced players how to mark their opponent, don't you learn that concept in junior football? [Post edited 9 Sep 2020 12:30]

He's the manager, if the players make mistakes then ultimately he takes responsibility. That's how management works and why they are well paid. He should be buying and picking players that don't make mistakes. That's not to absolve the players either, you can be annoyed at both of them.

Everybody makes mistakes, you're not going to get players not making mistakes at any level of football, the top end just make fewer ones. I'm sorry, but basic marking is about the players doing their jobs, nothing more.

Of course players will make mistakes, but it's the manager's job to minimise those mistakes or to pick players who make fewer mistakes. I'm not particularly anti-Lambert at all, I would love him to turn things around this year, but I don't agree that you can absolve the manager of responsibility when players make mistakes. That isn't how it works in any walk of life and certainly not in football. I'm a manager and if my staff fcuk up then I ultimately carry the can. [Post edited 9 Sep 2020 13:01]

So when a goalkeeper let’s the ball through his hands and a goal is scored, that’s the manager’s fault? We both know that’s not the case. Yes the manager picks the team, but once they cross that white line they need to perform. I’m not absolving PL and never have, but players also need to do their jobs and be accountable too as you’d expect those working under your guidance to do their roles. That part seems to be conveniently overlooked.

Yes and if those working under you don’t do their job and be accountable then you replace them with someone that will. Lambert has been here for nearly 2 years now and the vast majority of the squad were either signed by or have been handed contracts by him. If we don’t perform it’s on his head. This stuff isn’t difficult

You’re right it’s not difficult stuff. Players are accountable for their mistakes, I’m glad you agree.

Not sure how much we'll learn from playing whoever is left at Wigan on Sunday either...
