apparently their wage bill when they got promoted was £51 million quid and wages to turnover was 152%.

That's a pretty decent wage budget in the championship, looks like they rolled the dice and won getting promoted that season.

Would that include promotion bonuses though, that otherwise wouldn't have been incurred?

Having sold Maddison and one of the Murphys, they weren't short if a quid or two. Whereas what happens when we sell a player ?

They paid nothing for the other Murphy, or the two they sold in the summer.

They have invested and took the long term approach, whereas Evans has simply appointed managers in the basis that they once secured promotion.

And while we mocked their fund raising to upgrade their training ground, we appear to have sold ours. After giving up on Milnes aim to have half the squad coming from the academy by 2017.

And we are the ones supposed to have a rich owner

Norwich have a strategy.

Invest in young players, sell BIG, reinvest some of it, sell BIG repeat.

We don't have a strategy.

It means they have a squad that has cost them diddley squat in relative terms. That I think is their core strategy. Develop their own players rather than pay millions for some lower PL journey men.

Selling is always going to be a consequence of that, not the intent. Player will always seek to move up the ladder to play at a higher level, as every club knows.

But when they do move on, it is helpful to have a set up where the maximum can be had in return. Maybe with Downes we might be inching towards that, at last.

the only positive for us with the Norwich strategy is that their fans, a huge number of them, have an over inflated opinion of themselves and on each promotion they think its theur turn at giving it a real good go....

their boards ideas don't match the fans.

so they are always left a bit flat

I seem to remember reading the squad bonus was £10 million for promotion and that wasn't including the individual promtion bonuses in player contracts - this bonus was introduced just before Christmas of that season.
