Is itvrealky that young? Presumably the keeper pushes it up to 19 but I seem to remember Jim had an average age of early 20s for a league game in a side that included JDV and Legwinski.

Just checked and it was 24 but included the 2 over 30s above and 2 x 29 year old. Macken and Naylor.

19 is young as an average but not as a player

Yes, it’s clearly very young bearing in mind that we have a youth team that is for U23s.

Add in Wilson and Jackson as he clearly could have done and a couple more (ward and Chambers) and it will be comparable to what Jim was using in league games opposed to mickey mouse cup games.

It just shows the difference in resources that this was a 3rd team. Jim used and believed in kids but now we have a bloated squad

We do have a bloated squad, but it was undeniably a young and inexperienced team. There may well be a point that genuinely young kids don’t get as much game time as they did in the past, but I think that’s a wider football point than just us.
