Could it be Burley’s being lined up? on 21:16 - Nov 26 by ArnieM | Agree totally with this KD has zilch experience and being a once good footballer at NUFC does not make him a good managerial proposition. He’s done nothing in the professional game since he left the Academy a few months ago to supposedly broaden his experience. He was about to team up with some. Celebrity show prior to suddenly returning to the Club.... So what does that tell us about his managerial credentials? He’s had NO experience of managing any senior players at another Club. So sorry, but KD is most definitely not the next choice as manager. He needs to go and get experience of manag8mg senior players at league two level first. Do his apprenticeship basically. The only thing I'd say with Dyer is we'd have spent the last 5 years telling him to go and learn in L1 and L2, but now we are here there's nowhere really futher to drop! Whether he is the right man, or the wrong one, we probably won't find out - but I think learning about the club from the inside is likely more beneficial than going at managing some L2 club which in a lot of cases is a glorified non league set up. Does Sol Campbell's experience at Macclesfield, where he is having to pay all the clubs expenses out of his own pocket, have no support in booking hotels for away games, and spending more time focussing on off field issues due to money than on field make you better or worse qualfied for the ITFC job, compared to knowing and building a relationship with every development player at the club over a 2-3 year period?

Could it be Burley’s being lined up? on 21:39 - Nov 26 by ArnieM | Same response really, where the experience ? But her wasn’t a stunning success in the SOL was he. And neither Nash or KD have an6 managerial experience. . I’m not trying to be a party pooper, but we can’t mess about with experiments this season. |
Other than when MM left, we've always been in a situation under ME where you could argue 'we can't mess about with experiments'. KD could be the best or worst thing but at some point we need to recruit a manager that believes in the ITFC ethos, can coach and develop players and really understands what we are trying to do here with the academy. People on here rave about Artell - he was an 'experiment' not so long ago.

I don't think Dyer should be the one personally, but if he does what you suggest and shows any managerial talent then the chances are that he'll pass us on the way up as we go down, let's face it we're an upper mid table League One club these days. If he starts in League Two and is any good then he'll move further up than to us.

Could it be Burley’s being lined up? on 02:46 - Nov 27 by woiii | I'm not saying Burley wouldn't be able to adjust but I'm sure that business wise things are done differently now. For example, all the clubs can see each others PMA data. Linked to the above, a modern manager needs to be able to set out and manage the requirements and deliverables for all age groups, resource the plan (having current contacts to bring in would be great), and be an expert in all areas of modern sports science. Pressing in midfield is a many faceted art that is key to success now, especially since the rule changes have made tackling anywhere near the box almost impossible. For a manager to be successful he needs to be exceptional at organising the midfield and coaching his styles of pressing. |
I'm sure Burley could get us pressing. Our midfield does bugga all at the moment, so lm damned sure he could sort that out. Football is football it isn't rocket science.

Agree Burley won't be coming back. However, I got the impression Gerard Nash is ahead of Dyer.

Could it be Burley’s being lined up? on 08:24 - Nov 27 by Fenland_Blue | When MM left, I would of liked Klug over seeing Nash and Hogg, promoting youth with academy players making the nucleus of the squad. The academy is the biggest positive within the club, but with the current clown in charge they aren't going to get a chance. |
Klug doesnt want the job, he's sais so numerous times. He likes his current role so forget it. Who cares if KD doesn't have the experience, Christ Jose is only manager now because he was SIr Bobbys translator at Barca, not sure he ever kicked a ball professionally... All previous managers came with bag of experience and where has that got us....not saying that makes him the right choice but nor does it make him the wrong one

Agree. I said on another thread that I think Burley would be a good caretaker manager while someone can be found who can modernise the whole club.

Unless you are Marcus Evans you have no way of knowing Burley's never coming back.
| Trust the process. Trust Phil. |

Could it be Burley’s being lined up? on 10:24 - Nov 27 with 359 views | thecheek | Getting one of our ex players whether it's someone who's been out of the game for ages (Burley, Butcher) or someone untried (Dyer, Kuqi) may be a bit desperate but we are desperate. Obviously a simplistic view but if Lambert's team selections are as bad as most think then getting any of the above in to pick the team would be a start.
