Covid testing...... 09:33 - Jan 5 with 3280 views | itfcjoe | My youngest had a temperature on Sunday, booked him a test about 4:30pm Sunday afternoon, test at 9:30am yesterday, results back at midnight. (Negative thankfully) Pretty impressive;y organised there, and turnaround aobviously really good - 30ish hours from booking test to getting results meaning no days off work or nursery as Mrs doesn't work Monday's. Credit due for how well it all went, the test centre was really busy yesterday at Copdock

Covid testing...... on 11:07 - Jan 5 by giant_stow | Maybe its becasue I'm in a very high infection area, but you don;t even have to book around here - just turn up. Test centres all over the borough including an indoor, walk-in one, which seems bizarrely dangerous to me and I pity the poor sods who work there. |
My sister went to one of the turn up ones in East London. She had to wait half an hour but she had the result first thing the following day which I think is good. Well done to all those working on testing.

Covid testing...... on 10:27 - Jan 5 by C_HealyIsAPleasure | How did you get a test if not displaying symptoms etc? Or are you talking about a private test rather than one via the NHS? |
You have to lie. That's what I did (and was positive). There are plenty more symptoms than a high temperature / persistent cough / loss of taste and smell. I had none of those things until I was about 10 days in, which is obviously far too late to worry about track and trace (not that they called me). The guidance as it stands is lacking.

Covid testing...... on 12:29 - Jan 5 by textbackup | did the testing result in child being in headlock/face pushed against window? just asking as a "friend" told me of the troubles he had when testing his kids...… apparently my "friends" 8/6 year old girls develop super human strength when having a cotton bud stuck in snout.... |
Not quite that bad - but it is hard because wife was in back and I was in front and you have to basically pin their arms to their side, and clamp their head still, and open their mouth, plus hold a phone light to see what you are doing and take the swab so you run out of hands to an extent! And in my Vito so it's a bench seat so no middle bit to lean through! I'd expect it to be easier as they get a bit older, my 4 year old would be fine but at 2 I'm amazed we managed to get enough on the sample for it to be tested!

Covid testing...... on 10:48 - Jan 5 by itfcjoe | It was a ll quite slick, but was backing onot roundabout by time I left which wasn't ideal Some people take longer, which slows things up - we did because trying to do a 2 year old when not allowed out of car and he doesn't want a swab stuck up his nose is difficult logistically - especially witha 4 year old clambering about as well! And then had to settle him etc afterwards as not pleasant! FIngers crossed for our wife |
Nice to see you share a wife with Parky , very generous spirited of you Joe
