Could it be close because the break clause is half way through the season? Would make sense why it has limped on this far and now seemingly near

He's going nowhere.

However, I hope I'm wrong.

No, only up to the break point.

Sorry to badger you with questions again, but do you reckon Evans would consider Cowley/Cook or is he likely to favour a cheap appointment like Dyer?

I don't understand why an owner who happily spunked 750k for Donacien can't find a similar sum to pay off Shambert. Just bite the bullet and admit he's done here. The fans don't want him, by all accounts most of the players don't like him and the dressing rooms gone, pay him up and ***k him off. A proper manager getting this team up this season will pay that off and then some.

Except it won’t. It’s far more expensive keeping a club in the Championship than League one. The only chance of Evans making anything out of Town is selling us as a going concern in the Premier League after a few years of being there. We are an ongoing liability to him.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.
Poll: Which recent triallist should we have signed?

Think Cowley and Cook are both under consideration as potential successors.

Then will prob be the cheap internal option? Dyer.

I'd put him as an outsider as it stands.

Phil If lambert sacked do you know if Evans will be quick in getting a replacement in or would he give dyer, butcher and klug time as interim time( as long as he is winning games)

Usually has someone lined up before sacking the previous manager.

Wonder who his advisors are these days, to help his shortlisting! Is he still mates with ‘Arry?

Hopeful it’s someone different to who advised him on the last two! Although I can’t imagine many senior figures in the game would’ve urged him to opt for Hurst over Parker / Lampard!

Surely he looks at the last year and a half and realised that it’s time to get rid.

If we win on Tuesday, it won’t change anything really. We are so slow and poor, create no chances which is simply not good enough.

I struggle to think of another club who would have put up with Lambert for this long.

If he waits another 2/3 weeks it will be 5 fewer games and no chance to bring in any new players either.

That is how contracts are usually settled, payment made over a lengthy period.

Would the pay off stop if PL lands another job.

It should increase if he gets another job in this division due to the competitive advantage it would give us.

I think the Harry thing was always overplayed and I've no idea whether they still have anything to do with one another. I know David Pleat was quite a close confidant at one time and obviously Charlie Woods was a consultant until the last couple of years. Whether they are still in the loop I don't know.
