Personally I’m not in favour of loans unless they bring an X factor. We’ve been fairly lucky over the years with the likes of Gio, Bullard, Fraser and Lawrence but that well has well and truly dried up. |  |

Been like that for a number of seasons - for as long as Evans has been here. Sometimes it’s a case of taking a gamble and hoping that it’s pays off. More often it’s just cheap backup for cup games. |  | | |

Exactly this, I never get people excusing all the dross we sign by saying we have no money.
We waste signing on fees and wages on likes of Simon Dawkins who are useless, a 16 year old in the academy will have more of an impact.
We should play most of our own players and then one quality loan signing rather than 3 or 4 squad filler.
You do not need a 40 man squad in League one.
