I think that's it for me 20:57 - Jan 30 with 4814 views | The_Flashing_Smile | If Lambert isn't sacked by Monday I'm cancelling my season ticket. For the first time in 30 years. I know it's been said there have been loads of points where he could/should have been sacked, but if Evans doesn't act now after 1 point from the fabled "3 games" (on top of the dreadful stats across 2 years) then that's me done. Seems like as good a final straw as any, and I'm sure I won't be the only one. Not really sure what I'm paying for anyway. And that's without the issue of not having a job. If I had a life coach who looked at my outgoing expenses, he'd say this one's the maddest of the lot. Paying over the odds (iFollow is cheaper for non-season ticket holders), for something you don't enjoy, when you don't have a job, during a pandemic, with the financial implications of Brexit, and you were hoping to get a mortgage with the missus this year (whose own job is far from secure)... People might say, "well you want to keep hold of your seat for when we return." Really? I haven't exchanged Christmas presents with my parents yet, returning to football seems a long way off. I ought to be locked up. Sorry for the rantishness.

I think that's it for me on 13:04 - Jan 31 by The_Flashing_Smile | I think it's a bit harsh to say I and others have been part of the problem. We've continued paying because we love our club. Weird that you can't understand that. |
I understand it I just don't think 'I love the club, so I carry on paying' stands up to any form of logic beyond blind emotion, given that the club is effectively being killed by Evans' poor decisions and indecision. If we don't go up this season, we are down here for the foreseeable.

I cancelled a while back, not so much from a cost perspective but more morally and wanted to send a message to the owner the only way he understands.

Can I just ask one favour? Please don't encourage them to support Liverpool etc. Instead why don't the three of you pick a European club who you can all support (easier if you have Sky or BT Sport which carry a few international leagues) and then agree that you will go and watch one of their matches when all this has blown over. I've loved going to football matches in other countries with my sons. One of the things you can enjoy with them through the awkward teen years. Then when the other it (Lambert/Evans/etc) all blows over, you haven't cheated on ITFC and can all still come back.

It is blind emotion. That's what supporting a club is all about. I was concerned that if everyone stopped paying, the club would be in even worse dire straits. Evans has got a lot wrong, but he does keep us afloat with his money. It's not as simple as 'stop paying and Evans will sell, our fabulous new owner will get in a new manager and the trajectory will be upwards.' Stop attacking loyal supporters for being loyal supporters. We're all hurting right now, so rubbing our noses in the fact that we've kept paying for this, isn't helping.

"Dortmund shirt for Christmas, Dad, if you wouldn't mind?" "Would you like a name on the back son, maybe that Sancho, or the Norwegian lad scoring all the goals?" "Actually there is a name I'd like, little bit retro - from the Dortmund Golden era, one of their Champions League winning team..." "Kar-Heinze Reidle? Matthias Sammer? Andy Moller?" "Not exactly..."

We aren't being kept afloat. We are sinking. New lows every week. It's more gradual suffocation. I'd rather the club went under and could rise again under fans than be held hostage to a rich despot who insists everyone is grateful for his naïve, disinterested and belligerent presence. I really am not rubbing yours or anyone else's nose in it. Loyalty is a matter of judgment and not money. [Post edited 31 Jan 2021 14:51]

Financially we're being kept afloat. I'd have to disagree with you on wanting the club to go under.

Seems I've got a new fan. You want to speak up bluebudgie and tell us what your issue is, or are you just going to keep cowardly downarrowing everything I say?
