Could you tell us what it is you're looking forward to now that we're not a member state of the EU?

It'll be something about sending brown people home.

Of course.

I've said it many times, but it really hit home to me the morning after the vote when a pretty stereotypical Brexit voter was shouting his head off on Whitechapel High Street about how they could all piss off home now.

Not sure if he ever worked out that Bangladesh is not in the EU.

Yep. That’s when one of our neighbours told MrsN to “go back where you came from”.

Luckily I was at sea at the time.

Is it not the case EU have agreed that U.K. companies do not have to complete all the paperwork certifying that their goods are locally made, until 2022.

So there has been some agreements that help the U.K. adjust.

Since there is one concession, not sure that there are not others.

Of course, the U.K. Government chose and negotiated this agreement.

My comments are about the future and future trade. What is sensible, what is not. They are not some sort of justification for Brexit - my views on that have been made many times on that decision on this forum. We can revisit the folly of 2016 till the end of time but it wont change what happened.

I am thinking purely of the future and how the current environment is going to develop. UK trade with the EU has been shrinking over recent years. I am struggling to understand how the current approach is going too help them economically or the UK in the longterm.

The pre December trade balance was 2-1 in favour of the EU. Given what is happening it’ll be interesting to see what it is in 6 months time and how sustainable it is.

A new challenge with country moving a different direction. When the referendum was held in 2016 we had a choice on the ballot paper to leave the EU or to remain I voted to leave. If had alternative it would possibly been to go back to the common market. I realise leaving will come difficulties however we also don't know which direction the EU will move. What ever direction the EU moves the population will not be able to influence it. I guess will know in time. .Before its mentioned I am not an anti foreigner nazi loving gammon.

The EU is a political as well as a trade organisation.

Going back to Davis Davis and silly “holding cards to the chest” comments, there seems to be an assumption that the EU only cares about trade.

The EU approach seems to me, they are being guided by more of a games theory/optimisation approach. The EU is balancing trade, competition and political union, not just trade.

If they grant concessions to the U.K., that are unrelated to a Brexit transition, then that concessions is something that any third country or bloc may try and obtain.

The EU cares about the integrity of the EU, and will optimise for that, why optimise for trade with the U.K.?

I was coming off the night shift to be greeted by the sight of one of 'regulars' shouting at some tiny Portugese lasses that they could all go back home now because 'we' had 'won'.

Funnily enough, he shut up pretty quick sharpish when the brick-sh1thouse Polish charge nurse from A&E passed him shortly after.

From A leave point of view this is part of the problem. The EU being a political organisation, is their a danger that national governments become diminished to the state of a county council, with the electorate seemingly more remote from the decision making.

Just like the U.K. There are appropriate levels of organisation for different levels of responsibilities.

Point of order Mr Chairman.

37.5% of the electorate voted for Brexit (51.9% of a 72.3% turnout).

Unfortunately that's not very forth coming from the EU at the moment. With invoking article 16 & the whole vaccination Sharad. Europe could have cooperated better as independent nations over this whole situation, with out a failed ex defence minister getting involved.
One thing I noticed why have a lot of posters suddenly posting examples of racism on this thread.

We didn't have to join the EU vaccination programme and could have approved the drugs for use without the EU's permission, so not sure that's a great argument.

And if we hadn't left the EU we'd have thousands more doctors and nurses working in the NHS.

Any other benefits of leaving?

Because what you voted for, whether you ike it or not, helped to enable and appease racists and nationalists.

Unfortunately there are idiots on both sides of Brexit debate. However just because a person is not is a lover of EU doesn't make them a racist. I have read some unsavoury comments on this site from people who pro EU.
