Also, when a player has been out as long as KVY, it's incompetent to begin the season assuming they'll definitely be playing regularly for you.

If we'd signed a good right back and KVY got fit? Bonus. We'd have 2 good players for a very high energy position and could even potentially use KVY as a winger or a left back.

Instead, we signed a winger who wasn't ready for first team football and error-prone centre half. Not to mention the absolute waste that our 3 permanent signings have been.

Our transfer business over the summer window was shocking really. Ward has been poor after a promising start, Cornell looks every inch a League 2 keeper, Hawkins offered little and has had fitness issues, McGuiness is error prone and unbalances us at the back, and Bennetts is incredibly raw and mostly injured. Really not good. We signed a right back and striker on the last day of the January window when they were priority positions in the summer.

Look at the goals on Tuesday, massively mistiming a jump for the first; silly needless foul for the second

He's made more howlers than Toto this season, him and Woolfie as a combo is dodgy for me and both of them need either Chambers or Wilson alongside them to be steady

Yeah, I agree. He's basically a poor man's Pennington at this point. Does some good last ditch stuff, but often because he's out of position to begin with, and makes major errors that lead to goals. That jump for the header for Peterborough's first goal was embarrassing. You can't get away with having a kid playing his first senior football being paired with another rookie in his second season at this level. It's not like Woolfie is much of a talker so him being the senior partner was never likely to work out well. All of this was entirely predictable.

Lambert's signed a grand total of 2 players that have improved our squad in quality rather than quantity, but both have missed the majority of the games through injury. The rest have been squad filler or worse.

Agreed, we needed experienced CBs where that counts but full backs that have plenty of energy and pace. Both Kenlock and Donacian are perfectly adequate at this level.
Chambers in all his time here has proved that he's not a RB so if he has to play then CB is the only place eh should be considered for. Having two young CBs has been very hit and miss plus neither are lefties.
I would bet that Kenlock and Matheson are more likely to cope with back to back games than our two 35's. Ward has been a big disappointment for me (just a shame we didn't get Garbut) while Kenlock is now proving he's good enough.

I just can't see why you'd sign a 35-year-old full back - regardless of quality - unless your plan didn't really require someone with pace and energy there. Like maybe you anticipated playing a very structured 4-4-2, with the full backs pinned back and the front 4 doing all the attacking.

With our formation? Crazy.

Donacien was, and remains, a perfectly serviceable right back at this level.

I don’t disagree but he was clearly not in Lamberts plans and has been widely lambasted on here. Clearly not by those who have upvoted you 😉

Given our last 3 seasons I doubt there's a single player at the club that hasn't been "widely lambasted" by at least a section of people on here.

I don’t know whether it’s a case of the penny finally dropping. He hasn’t had much choice but to play him at RB until the recent signing of Matheson given KVY’s endless injuries. The only alternative would have been to play Wolf there, which I suppose was an option.

Instead of loaning McGuiness at a time when we had a fit Chambers, Wolf, Nsiala, Toto and Ndaba, he should have loaned a freaking right back, a position where we had precisely nobody he was willing to play there. Clearly Crowe, Cotter and Donacien were never going to get an opportunity. Terrible recruitment. It was almost as if he saw McGuiness in The Pizza Cup for one game and loaned him on the basis of a MoM performance? More evidence he is a Charlatan.
