I've dusted it off and got it ready for the run-in. Before Phil runs a story on it later, feel free to give it a go and let me know if you find any problems with it.

Safe to say I was being a bit optimistic. Even if we now win our remaining 8 games, we won’t be on 85 points.

There is an error on this, Gav. Next to Ipswich there is a drop down menu allowing you to change the figure to something other than 0. It is superfluous.

Posh & Ipswich both ending on equal points was never going to happen. Wish I had seen this when you first posted it as I would have gladly had a bet with you.

I always do this and do it a par, rather than my own opinions. So any team that is worth of being in consideration for the play-offs can't lose to another play-off+ contender. Any game they play against a team not in consideration, is an instant win. Obviously this means no losses, but it also means it is about how much it is in a teams own hands.

Usually this means that Ipswich feature some way below where my personal bias would place them. And usually it is pretty close to being true, as most teams don't buck the trend they have been performing at all season.

With that said...

Hull 90
Ipswich 86
------------------------
Peterborough 85
Doncaster 83
Lincoln 82
Portsmouth 82
-----------------------
Sunderland 81
Oxford 79
Gillingham 73
Charlton 71

Based on last nights performance, we won't achieve this. But it does highlight just how favourable our run in is and how much of a failure not reaching the play-offs would be.

Peterborough United 90 (+5)
Hull City 88 (-2)
----------------------------
Sunderland 86 (+5)
Portsmouth 85 (+3)
Blackpool 84 (na)
Lincoln City 81 (-1)
-------------------------------
Ipswich Town 79 (-7)
Charlton Athletic 75 (+4)

So before I explained that this is not a prediction. It is just scoring par. So 1-0 win is noted for every game against a team outside of the top 8 and a 0-0 result if it is top 8 v top 8.

The figures in brackets are the change vrs their previous par. So gaining points is very solid. Losing a lot is a real concern. Maintain par is very good.

Doncaster have dropped out of the top 8. And we have dropped a significant amount of points. What were once advantageous games have now levelled out and the ease of our games left is no longer a significant factor verses the team around us.

Peterborough and Sunderland have smashed it. If current form continues to exceed the difficulty of their remaining games, we may well see Hull in the play-offs, which will be extraordinary. Blackpool have also come from nowhere.

According to my highly unscientific formula where any team beats another team who they are more than 5 places above, or draws if they are within 5 places, then we'll finish 5th with 81 points. Lump on!

Got us finishing 5th with 76 pts .

We won't. Owing to the fact we can't beat anyone unless they gift us goals a la Bristol Rovers.
