Line Of Duty Season 6-Spoilers 22:11 - Mar 21 with 37424 viewsTRUE_BLUE123

I know there are a few watchers on here..

Interesting episode, a few references to earlier seasons and I was convinced they were saying Jizz for most of that episode.

That Brummie cop is dodgy.

Back to James Nesbitt.

It is either a stroke of genius to have a big hitter like Nesbitt appear only as a photograph in order to throw the entire audience into thinking he is going to play a major role in the series or he is definately the main man in a yet to be filmed 7th series.

....Nesbitt was working on Bloodlands with Jed Mercurio around the same time.

There's every chance he literally just asked him if he could use his photo to wind up the audience.

I've been thinking about how Buckles was crapping his pants when Jimmy Lakewell was returned to prison and told he was sharing a cell just before (big SPOILER ALERT) Lakewell is garroted. The change in Buckles' demeanour from someone who cannot even hold a teacup steady to the unflappable 'no commenter' when he is questioned by AC-12 in the final episode is either a dismal flaw in characterisation or a clear indication that Buckles has been brought further into the OCG and given assurances that his life in prison will be good and that he will be given assistance from elsewhere in the police service for an early release. I expect to see this unfold in the next series, but it seems clear that 'fourth man H' Buckles is not the brains behind things.

Agreed...even if we assume he was nervous in the face of seeing it happen in person, it seemed a bit weird he was being threatened not to grass up what was effectively one of his own underlings in the course of a murder he himself would have ordered.

That said, surely they're not going again, are they? The packing away of the suspects board in reverse order of the series central characters (which was a nice touch) seemed very much like a closing book.

I've been hoping for a while that Mercurio would keep writing LoD, but just start afresh elsewhere with a new set of characters. It's sounding a little like that might be the case...and maybe to ultimately tie a new story in with any loose ends from this season might not stretch credibility too much...

He said he was taking the orders from the OCG, so he's not the leader, but just one of their minions but (presumably) their top man in the force - if you put aside fact someone may be keeping him in position and helping him fail upwards.

The OCG are showing him what will happen to him if he were to give them up
