Line Of Duty Season 6-Spoilers 22:11 - Mar 21 with 37419 views | TRUE_BLUE123 | I know there are a few watchers on here.. Interesting episode, a few references to earlier seasons and I was convinced they were saying Jizz for most of that episode. That Brummie cop is dodgy. [Post edited 22 Mar 2021 9:54]

Line Of Duty Season 6-Spoilers on 22:07 - May 2 by wkj | Sadly they game of thrones'd us, unless there is a film or last season that reveals more. Needless to say, that was a shockingly poor ending for a Jed Mercurio show. [Post edited 2 May 2021 22:08]

I get the premise of it. That regardless of any wrongdoing within the force, no matter how big or small, if those at the top don't want to believe it then nothing will ever change. Perhaps a loose reflection on the way some feel regarding race/gender inequality. Still it was a bit of a naff ending. I hope this is the end. To be honest, last season's "Morse code" ending was just as bad. It's very rare nowadays for a series to come to a satisfying ending. The best series ending I've seen recently was Succession series 2.

Line Of Duty Season 6-Spoilers on 22:13 - May 2 by itfcjoe | Feels like they’ve set it up for Carmichael to grow a backbone and go after them in a next series But hugely disappointing- feels as though he was just making a political point at the end and that it didn’t follow the rest of the show and series. Very weak |
I also noted that little smile from Buckles at the end. Makes me think they are going again.

Very underwhelmed. I almost feel a bit gutted that that was the ending

I think sometimes you want a happy ending, or the right ending......not the clever ending that leaves no one satisfied

Did think same re Carmichael, but the text "updates" at the end negated that. As you said in your 2nd para, looks like Mercurio was trying to make a point about what actually happens irl - ie there are no satisfying conclusions & the corruption just carries on because the most corrupt are the ones at the top with the power to let it.

Line Of Duty Season 6-Spoilers on 22:33 - May 2 with 3346 views | LankHenners | Bit flat at the end but had it ended all action packed with AC-12 getting the big ‘win’ of taking out all police corruption then it would’ve been totally out of tune with the overall theme and message of the entire show. Does neatly highlight how realism is often disappointing in comparison to fantasy.

Is Buckells not a perfect representation of Boris. Mercurio has hinted all series about how those at the top have lost integrity. Then you have some bumbling moron who is corrupt work his way to the top.

Hah! It did remind me of Johnson having the power to make decisions regarding review/investigation into his own conduct recently!

We know Osbourne’s corrupt from the first episode of the first series. Carmichael 100% covering for him either deliberately because she’s part of it or unintentionally because she wants to suck up to the boss to advance her career.

Yes...that was a proper, twist ending in Succession 2
Line Of Duty Season 6-Spoilers on 10:06 - May 3 with 2906 views | NthQldITFC | [from safe position behind sofa] Am I the only one who thinks the main characters are all quite poorly acted? They all seem incredibly wooden to me (particularly Hastings and Arnott). Between the Lines was far better acted imho, although as a spectacle I do enjoy Line of Duty. [takes cover again]

Have always thought she was either his daughter or shagging him (or both). Think Osbourne might have been deliberately flagged up by JM early doors just to deepen the "reality is frustrating, you can see what's going on but we don't have the power to stop it" end message.

Line Of Duty Season 6-Spoilers on 10:47 - May 3 with 2843 views | ThisIsMyUsername | It was a very rubbish ending and very contrived. I can't believe that they might be about to drag it out for yet another season. I thought that the previous season was pushing it.

Line Of Duty Season 6-Spoilers on 15:14 - May 2 by BlueandTruesince82 | Countdown is on. I don't think we're finding out who H is tonight, feel like there is too much to wrap up. There will be another season because they haven't signed James Nesbit up for the sum if his involvement to be posing for one covertly photo on a boat which also leads me to conclude he is not one of the bodies in the villa. Who the F H is I don't know but I hope Carmichael gets taken down somehow |
Oh well, I was wrong about Neil Morrissey's character making an appearance in this series and you were wrong about us not finding out who 'H' is. As most others are, I am disappointed with the way this series has fallen flat in the last two or three episodes. And I don't think it had to be that way. We could have had a bit less of the cross examination of DI Ian 'H' Buckles (why are so many senior coppers called Diana, even the men?). Especially the 'no comments', and a bit more of the counter ambush by armed police on the ambush of DI Joanne Davidson's bogus prison transport, especially the organisation and approval of said operation. Definately... [Post edited 3 May 2021 12:34]

Whilst arresting and jailing him may have been the more satisfying ending from a TV watching perspective, it would’ve completely undermined the heart of the series so was never going to happen. It makes the point that whilst you can pick off individuals, you’re never going to eradicate corruption if the institution has no interest in accountability.

Tend to agree with you. I binged all series of LOD during lockdown last year and watched this series week by week. Not sure if it was poorly acted per se or if it was just the dialogue written for them was a bit clunky at times. On the whole it was worth watching but not a patch on some of the American series.

Not watched any Fargo. Apart from the film. Was considering watching it next. Presumably you’d recommend it?

I've been thinking about how Buckles was crapping his pants when Jimmy Lakewell was returned to prison and told he was sharing a cell just before (big SPOILER ALERT) Lakewell is garroted. The change in Buckles' demeanour from someone who cannot even hold a teacup steady to the unflappable 'no commenter' when he is questioned by AC-12 in the final episode is either a dismal flaw in characterisation or a clear indication that Buckles has been brought further into the OCG and given assurances that his life in prison will be good and that he will be given assistance from elsewhere in the police service for an early release. I expect to see this unfold in the next series, but it seems clear that 'fourth man H' Buckles is not the brains behind things.

Line Of Duty Season 6-Spoilers on 13:45 - May 4 with 2360 views | GlasgowBlue | Back to James Nesbitt. It is either a stroke of genius to have a big hitter like Nesbitt appear only as a photograph in order to throw the entire audience into thinking he is going to play a major role in the series or he is definately the main man in a yet to be filmed 7th series.

Although they will have to remember to weave into the story line the issue of that he is now in a relationship with Hermione Norris
