So listening to the various BB interviews yesterday 09:54 - Apr 23 with 1156 views | Cheltenham_Blue | two things I picked up on, firstly Mark Ashton is already involved, albeit on an advisory capacity over the phone. But the thing, outside of the direct stuff like staff and players is BB's real awareness of the commercial possibilities of the club, and connecting with the GLOBAL fanbase. This is massive, and something that, for a successful businessman, Marcus Evans just never saw the importance of. The potential to increase our revenue streams, are huge, especially if we can get back to challenging in the Championship. These guys are certainly talking the talk, whether or not they walk the walk will become apparent over the next 5 years, but I fail to see how anyone can fail to be excited.

I think we've all been thinking about the alternative for a very long time. Its good to be looking in a different direction again.

Their main sponsors now are Swansea University and Low Cost Vans, from Neath. It's very easy to say they're going to crack the commercial market for a club hardly anyone has heard of, but much harder to actually do it. We'll see. They are making the right noises so far though, I agree there. It's early days but still a breath of fresh air after Evans. We actually have some ambition again.

What was their involvement in football prior to taking over Swansea?

'Carers Trust' is on the front of our shirts, we've got 'Thank you NHS' on the back. How much do you reckon they are paying us? Its not just about sponsorship, if you are going to maximise revenue its about collaboration and partnerships too. Brett Johnson's area of expertise is in commercial revenue streams so, I think we can expect better than Copdock Services.

Tho I would say that, with our history, Ipswich probably have a greater global recognition factor than Swansea in the early 2000s. Not, perhaps, hugely significant, but gives something to work with.

Ipswich are definitely a known entity among my older South American neighbours. Many of them get to us through knowing their Barca history, and the main man himself.
