These are the players that count towards the outfield players over 20 remit; I think it's a case of 21 or over on 01/01/2021:
Defenders: Burgess, Coulson, Donacien, Edmundson, Ndaba, Nsiala, Penney, Vincent-Young, Woolfenden (9 players)
Midfielders: Burns, Carroll, Edwards, Evans, Fraser, Nolan (6 players)
Strikers: Aluko, Bonne, Chaplin, Jackson, Norwood, Pigott (6 players)
So that makes 21 but I can't see Ndaba making the squad now we've brought in Burgess. I'm sure we'll happily move Jackson back to the 'bomb squad' should we need to free up another place for a signing as well.
I think I'm right in saying Dobra, El Mizouni and Harper all count as under 20's in this scenario.
In terms of what else we need to do, a right back and defensive midfielder would be useful but not sure if we'll try for them or not. If so, we'll need to move out one of Donacien, Nsiala or Woolfenden alongside Ndaba and Jackson.

I think there's going to be a lot of thinking going on in relation to Donacien because he offers cover across the backline, which is extremely useful in a limited numbers squad. He certainly hasn't done his chances any harm with his centre back performances so far but he just isn't attacking enough at full back for Cook's pattern of play.
Of course, this might be it and we'll stick with what we've got - until January anyway. I assume we can chop and change our legible squad until the transfer window closes. | |

Thank you for this thread. It’s really interesting seeing the changes over time. The level of change is quite shocking when you see it like this.
In comparing 10/5 to now, the midfield 10/5 looks quite strong on paper, not least because two of those are now playing at a higher level. The reality was that it was ineffective - for a variety of reasons. Overall though, the squad now looks considerably stronger all over the pitch. Or they will do when they find their feet. |  | | |
