Intrigued to see how Portugal get on this year, obviously the defending champions. Their squad is arguably so much better this year than before. They’re in a group with France, Germany and Hungary - I won’t be putting any money on the winner of that group.
Not really an outsider, but I think Italy will do well, they seem to have sorted themselves out.
I'm most excited to see England naturally, incredible amount of talent, winning the tournament isn't out of the question. I don't necessarily think anyone's writing Germany off but their squad looks very strong and have to be considered one of the favourites despite that embarrassing defeat to Spain in November and a poor showing at the last major tournament.
If England, big if as usual, but if England win Group D, they will play the runners up in Group F (group of death), so probably Germany, France or Portugal and out England go as usual.
On the other hand if England come 2nd in Group D, they will play the runners up in Group E, which on paper should be slightly easier, probably Sweden, Poland or Slovakia.
So probably pay for England to throw the Croatia game :)
Everybody. My eyes rarely flick above Championship football nowadays and I've not watched England for ages. Last time I clapped eyes on the England squad it looked like a load Championship loanees and PL U23 had been picked so looking forward to watching them and the other home nations.
Such a contrast to the 80s and 90s would never ever miss England play....
