GB News 22:02 - Jun 13 with 7511 views | tractordownsouth | Anyone tune in to their big launch? I watched bits and bobs flicking between the Netherlands game and it looked like a total car crash. Andrew Neil's opening monologue seemed OK and he's clearly a decent broadcaster but the rest of the stuff was dire. Dan Wootton spent his slot spouting covid conspiracies. There were some appearances from Alison Pearson (who claimed in March 2020 that young people would be too selfish to follow lockdown, yet has spent the last year moaning about restrictions) and Carol Malone. By all accounts, much of the programme was spent shouting "woke" and "cancel culture" at anything and everything. Shambles. And despite all that, Darren Grimes still can't get a job there!

GB News on 09:46 - Jun 17 by HARRY10 | Please quote where the four named spoke of "the immediate collapse of the economy after Brexit" In the meantime I will point out how on 4th August 2016 the Bank of England had to introduce "A cut in official interest rates to 0.25%, the first such move since March 2009; Plans to pump an additional £60bn in electronic cash into the economy to buy government bonds, extending the existing quantitative easing (QE) programme to £435bn in total; Another £10bn in electronic cash to buy corporate bonds from firms “making a material contribution to the UK economy”; As much as £100bn of new funding to banks to help them pass on the base rate cut. Under this new “term funding scheme” (TFS) the Bank will create new money to provide loans to banks at interest rates close to the base rate of 0.25%. The scheme will charge a penalty rate if banks do not lend; The growth forecast for the UK for next year was slashed by an unprecedented amount. Growth would come to a near-standstill over coming months and be much weaker in 2017 and 2018 than predicted before the Brexit vote." In addition perhaps you might care to explain what would have happened to the UK economy had that pretty drastic intervention not been put in force ? [Post edited 17 Jun 2021 10:10]

Sorry to see your 'debate' with Chico has descended into absudity but here's my tuppence worth. That drastic intervention was what the BoE Advisory committee was set up to do when anything hit the fan. The Leave vote moved the goalposts so policy had to change to compensate. The intervention might have happened sooner but these peeps only meet once a month. The toal cost of that intervention was the first cost of Brexit, the first hit to our economy. That intervention would not have been necesssary if the vote had been remain. Covid has masked a lot of the ongoing cost of Brexit and I'm wondering when a meeting of the G7 won't include the UK. They'll probably have G8 meetings instead, then G9.........

GB News on 13:19 - Jun 17 by chicoazul | Hazza that means that Cameron put his name to it too. |
Another lie. Osborne's words were his own, made on the basis that Article 50 would be triggered immediately after the vote. Now why not provide evidence of your claim " the immediate collapse of the economy after Brexit that Cameron Osborne Major and Blair told us would definitely happen" Could that be just another brexiteer lie, as well ?

No no I’m afraid not. Cameron endorsed his view and would have been aware of the research that informed them. “The former prime minister said the UK's destiny is to "lead in Europe" and warned that Brexit would cause economic instability and "damage fundamentally" the interests of the British people.” There’s your man Blair.

So as you point out, Blair did not say the words you stated, that was just you lying. And in fact his warning that "that Brexit would cause economic instability and "damage fundamentally" the interests of the British people.” has proved to be correct. You have shown no evidence that Cameron endorsed Osborne's words, nor acknowledged that you continue to quote them out if context. The reality, as can be easily seen, is that you dived into this with both feet desperate to defend the brexit liars, by the use of an all too predictable rightie tactic when caught out - claim 'they are all as bad as each either'. To which, you made up stuff to back that claim and continue to do so as if your rewriting of the Parrot Sketch is somehow is a reasoned defence. However, I am off to watch the football, and I shall leave you to Jackanory, your righting of.

Hazza respectfully I have already proven you wrong. As you yourself acknowledge. Everything else you say is as usual, bluster and opinion.
